Over the last four seasons, we watched Lieutenant Colonel Joan Burton face the reality that she is suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury. We asked “Army Wives” actress Wendy Davis what it was like to portray someone dealing with TBI. Read on to see what she had to say:

We Asked: Fans are so impressed with your portrayal of someone dealing with TBI: traumatic brain injury. How did you prepare for this part of your role and what has the reaction been?

Wendy Answered: "Before my character Joan developed TBI, I had never heard of it. I watched a documentary series online called "In Their Boots" and I was shocked and filled with compassion for the people and families who live with TBI. I felt obligated to do right by them. The reaction has been overwhelming. Many people have sent sincere thanks for telling their stories, and that makes me feel like I'm making a difference for our soldiers, military families and America. Thanks for asking."

What question would you ask your favorite Army Wife?
