At the hospital, Pamela learns that the Harpers, the couple who paid her to be a surrogate, are out of town and cannot pick up the twins. In order to protect her secret, Claudia Joy offers to house the twins for the next 2 days. Trevor surprises Roxy with the news that he wants to officially adopt her children, a decision motivated by his upcoming deployment to Iraq. With his father on a tour of duty, Jeremy refuses to attend West Point in the fall and continues to physically abuse his mother, Denise. Upon learning that Denise has fallen prey to her adolescent son's outbursts, Roxy takes her new friend to the gym and gives Denise her first boxing lesson. Pamela, disappointed by Chase's out of control spending, feels alone in her marriage and questions her decision to be a surrogate. Roland attempts to reach out to Joan with a romantic dinner, but Joan, who has begun to drink heavily, is uncomfortable with being intimate and accuses Roland of cheating while she was away. When Pamela finally says goodbye to the twins, Chase is there to console her.
