Dr. Jill Biden will deliver remarks at an event honoring military caregivers hosted by Caring for Military Families – the Elizabeth Dole Foundation at the National Museum of Women in the Arts on March 6 in Washington, D.C. The event will also include an advance screening of the Season 7 premiere of "Army Wives."
Caring for Military Families – the Elizabeth Dole Foundation's (dolemilitaryfamilies.org) mission is to empower military caregivers by working to better align services for wounded warriors, promote collaboration between the public, private, and nonprofit communities and raise awareness about the critical needs facing military caregivers.
Over the past six season, "Army Wives" has seen its fair share of top-notch guest stars: Ann-Margret, Wynonna Judd, Patti LuPone, Frankie Faison, Paul Wesley, Gabrielle Union, Lawrence Gilliard, Sean Patrick Thomas, M. Emmett Walsh, Barbara Eden, Robert Forester, General George Casey, Jr. and Under Secretary of the Army, Honorable Dr. Joseph W. Westphal. Here are our favorites:
J.R. Martinez: The most recent guest star, the "Dancing with the Stars" champion played a physical therapist who works with wounded veterans. He helped General Clarke take his first steps since his injury.
Susan Lucci: The TV legend played Audrey, the wife of a retired Brigadier General. Claudia Joy felt threatened Denise's friendship with Jackie and confided in her old friend, Audrey.
Jill Biden: Wife of United States Vice President Joe Biden stopped by Fort Marshall (as herself) to kick off the "Fun Run" charity event in Season 4.
Harry Hamlin: Harry played Grant Chandler, a public advocacy lawyer (and Claudia Joy's former law professor turned boss) who tried a case against the Army that pitted Claudia Joy and Michael against each other during a courtroom hearing. Professor Chandler also revealed to Claudia Joy that he has romantic feelings for her in Season 5.
