Countdown to Season 7: Spotlight on Guest Stars

Posted By kim_messina 10:00am GMT

Over the past six season, "Army Wives" has seen its fair share of top-notch guest stars: Ann-Margret, Wynonna Judd, Patti LuPone, Frankie Faison, Paul Wesley, Gabrielle Union, Lawrence Gilliard, Sean Patrick Thomas, M. Emmett Walsh, Barbara Eden, Robert Forester, General George Casey, Jr. and Under Secretary of the Army, Honorable Dr. Joseph W. Westphal. Here are our favorites:

J.R. Martinez: The most recent guest star, the "Dancing with the Stars" champion played a physical therapist who works with wounded veterans. He helped General Clarke take his first steps since his injury.

Susan Lucci: The TV legend played Audrey, the wife of a retired Brigadier General. Claudia Joy felt threatened Denise's friendship with Jackie and confided in her old friend, Audrey.

Jill Biden: Wife of United States Vice President Joe Biden stopped by Fort Marshall (as herself) to kick off the "Fun Run" charity event in Season 4.

Harry Hamlin: Harry played Grant Chandler, a public advocacy lawyer (and Claudia Joy's former law professor turned boss) who tried a case against the Army that pitted Claudia Joy and Michael against each other during a courtroom hearing. Professor Chandler also revealed to Claudia Joy that he has romantic feelings for her in Season 5.

Posted By LisaRaphael 6:23pm GMT

This week on the set of Season 6, the "Army Wives" cast welcomed another guest star to the post — "ER" actress Kellie Martin! Kellie joins the cast as a member of the military police. She may be a stranger to South Carolina (as she Tweeted upon her arrival) but she's old workout friends with cast member Sally Pressman! Follow the official "Army Wives" Twitter and Kellie Martin for more updates.

Robert John Burke, who has recently starred as Chuck Bass's father Bart in "Gossip Girl" and in "Rescue Me" as Father Mickey will appear on seven episodes of Season 6 as a general and (fellow guest star!) Kellie Williams' character's husband.

We've already seen some top secret sneak peeks of actress Ryan Michelle Bathe in scenes with Sterling K. Brown aka Dr. Roland Burton. Ryan will appear on Season 6 as the head of a Youth Center that David, the Burtons' newly adopted son, is attending. What makes the pairing of Sterling and Ryan so special is the couple's real-life bond — the two are married and recently had their first child! Stay tuned to the "Army Wives" Facebook page for these videos and more from the set of Season 6.

Season 6 Scoop: Kim Delaney's Newest Rival, Susan Lucci Guest Stars & More!

Posted By LisaRaphael 3:22pm GMT

Filming for “Army Wives” Season 6 is underway and TVLine’s Michael Ausiello (follow him on Twitter here) has the sizzling scoop on exciting guest stars and what’s coming up for Kim Delaney’s character, Claudia Joy Holden!

“All My Children” fans will be happy to see Kim and fellow “AMC” alum Susan Lucci join forces again onscreen (Delaney's first acting role was as teen Jenny Gardner Nelson on the soap opera), but this time at Fort Marhsall. Ausiello reports that soap legend Susan Lucci will play the wife of a retired general in at least two episodes in Season 6. Her character will offer sage advice to CJ on dealing with a rival.

No, that doesn't mean that Lenore Baker is returning — well, as far as we know ;) — but Claudia Joy does have a new battle at her hands. "Lie to Me" actress Kelli Williams will join the cast of "Army Wives" for at least seven episodes as Jackie Clarke, the ambitious spouse of a general... and Mrs. Holden's newest enemy! Click here to read more from TVLine.

At the close of Season 5, Claudia Joy had just left her job under Grant Chandler and was helping to mend her family after Michael's scandal and Emmalin's return home from school. What do you think is next for Claudia Joy? What other guest stars do you want to see on Season 6 of "Army Wives"? As we get closer to Season 6, stay tuned to the "Army Wives" Blog for more from the set!
