  • As a woman who has been around the Army my entire life I am HORRIFIED Lifetime has chosen to capitilize on the current war and the real military families involved in it. I was raised the daughter of a Special Forces soldier (30yrs service) who was an absentee dad only because he was constantly on secret deployments or TDY. I grew up and joined the Army myself and did deployments and have since married into the Army, my husband is currently on his second 15th month deployment. This show makes me so angry, all I see is wives and civilians who have no idea what really goes on in an Army life. For heavens sake, if there was a true to life stereotype of an Army wife it is that the majority are last minute marriages to young naive girls and unplanned pregnancy after pregnancy. FRG meetings full of gossip and backstabbing that break marriages apart on a lie. I have been on every side I can think of: child of a soldier, deployed soldier, and Army wife. This show may be captivating to all, but I am not the only real Army wife who is appalled by the popularity of this show. Someone please explain the draw, the real draw to this fiction packed show because I don't see it.

  • I love this show and have watched it since the beginning. I even got my mother in law and my sister watching it too. Well, as most of you I am an army wife as well and have been now for almost 5 years. Well, for an answer to you Tiffany. Yes, some do come back different. My husband did and he has never been the same since. He is now back over there again and I'm hoping that this time won't be worse. Well, I agree with all of you. There are different things for the spouses of the soldiers and their children but not everybody knows about it and it's sad because a lot of them miss out. I also think that Army05's post is right on. That's some of the things to making a deployment easier. But, I think communication is another element too. I can not wait for the new season. Is there already commercials with previews of the new season? because I was just wondering about this whole Roxy and Trevor thing. I haven't seen that yet. Well, take care everybody. If any army wives out there ever want to talk my e-mail is danielleejb@yahoo.com. Feel free to write me.

  • I Love this show. I am an army wife and my husband including some of our friends couldn't get enough of it! I've been an army wife since July 07 and even though times get tough I love it. I've pretty much seen it all, the infedility, been through deployments and the lonliness. I do have a question for any other military wives out there. I have a 4 mth old and we've only been here for 7 mths, finding friends is the hardest thing to do. Is there a website I can visit that can connect me to other wives in my area?

  • agree with alot of what you are saying. My boyfriend was gone for 15mth deployment and he station at ft hood it was hard going through it but i made a little friend in the area cause i am in texas myself in the dallas area. I being off the site for awhile and what ever the person said must being real bad. I do agree military do stick together by me being with a guy thats in the army and work for aafes i see it hands on. I wonder who is in the casket and is that trevor in the hospital bed cause thats roxy sitting by the bed. I cant wait to season 2 started cause they shot some of the scene at the PX SC so you will be seening some real life Army wives in the show. I have a question to ask some of you ladies when your husband or boyfriend came back did they act a little different? you can contact me if you have a answer or give me some advise cause i really do need it. mzlady2323@yahoo.com this my email address.

  • There are several hundred organizations out there working to support our troops and their families. I think it would be awesome if lifetime would give some of the commercial spots or even have a blurb at the end of every show featuring some of the groups. It would encourage viewers to support our troops and give them the means to do so and then let military troops see all the help out there being done in honor of them. My favorite is www.HeroHugs.org. It is run by a little girl who is just 11!! She has sent thousands of packages to troops....I think seeing her would make the rest of us think about how we do need to be thanking the men and women who proudly serve our country and work to make the world a better place for us all! I bet her story and work would inspire a lot of women to do more.

  • Lots of people are making comments about the previews.....the clips may not all be from the first episode that airs. They could be scenes scattered throughout the season. When Pamela made the comment about letting her go....I first thought of Roxy, but then I also thought about the twins she gave birth to. Maybe she is going to have issues dealing with that over the next season. As for who Roxy is by....it could be Trevor and it could be later in the season. The bandaging suggested burns and this is one of the major injuries we have troops coming home with. You see a lot of young couples rushing into a marriage when a deployment arises and then when the soldier comes back with a major injury, it can really strain the marriage. Sometimes wives stand by their man no matter what, but sadly many of our soldiers coming home wounded with injuries that will affect them for life are having wives walk away and leave them. It would be an interesting storyline to see Roxy and Trevor go through that and give people an understanding of what both sides go through.
