When Kyra insists that her parents tell her the truth, Brock admits to smoking pot when he was younger, but he regrets this decision. Kyra and Brock go on a walk to talk about saying no. Barbra Jean is mad that she didn't know this about Brock, and Reba feels left out that Kyra and her father are having a private discussion. Reba thinks she doesn't look cool in Kyra's eyes because she didn't smoke, so Van tells her to lie and say she did. Cheyenne overhears Van tell Reba she should claim she smoked once at cheerleading camp. Cheyenne realizes how much this bothers Van, and shows him a diary entry stating she did not smoke. He knows she is lying, but he feels better when she readily admits that it did happen once and she is sorry for not being honest with him from the beginning. Later that day, Reba finds Kyra at Brock and BJ's house, and she tries to lie and say she did smoke. But she cannot lie and instead asks Kyra how many times she has been offered pot and if she said yes.
