A narcoleptic lab researcher is part of a team that discovers a drug that can cure her condition. She has allowed the disease to make a virtual prisoner of her and is anxious for the cure but afraid of what moving on might mean and reluctant to let go of her support group of fellow narcoleptic all of whom will join her in the drug trial. But when the trials result in unexpected deaths, she knows that there must be sabotage since she is sure the cure was safe. As a narcoleptic she can stay awake if she needs to with any kind of amphetamine, but the longer she stays awake the more she risks seizures brought on by strong emotions and hallucinations. She uncovers a conspiracy that endangers her life and sends her on the run. She manages to stay one step ahead of her pursuers while desperately trying to stay awake. She must figure out who is behind the sabotage and why, while fighting off increasing hallucinations.
