i was watchin this movie on youtube and it was a very good movie. i actually like it. there were a few movies tat i like buh ill name two
She's Too Young
Tell Me No Lies
these two movies are really inspiring to young people to be careful who they hang around and be careful of what you see when you are around certain people
This movie is TRUE. It happened in Conyers, Georgia.
I saw it on PBS when it aired. Some of the parents were totally stupid. You really need to contact PBS in Georgia to see it for yourselves. Channel 8. They were even giving each other high 5's when they went into the clinic just because they had gotten an STD. Clueless I might add. One girl was even bleeding after having sex with several guys at a party. How dumb is that. Running Trains as we call it. But this was consensual, not rape. It was a joke to them. We called everyone we could think of to watch this at the time. Even more stupid to say, was the nurse who said that she only saw this in black children and not whites. What school of nursing did she go to? It happens in all races. That's the South for you. Some people still fail to except things in their own race and blame it on others. I hope after all of these years, that she saw this and that people told her how racist she sounded. Some people are still in the BOX. Moving on to those of you who are angry about this. Well don't be, it's life and learn from it. HIV is here now and there isn't a cure. Herpes is too and there isn't a cure. Other std's are here too and condoms can't even protect you. Listen to talk radio or ask your doctors. Knowledge is power. No one is perfect but trust no one. If they're already active, please use protection. There were others before you so it may not show now, but it will years later. Better yet ask your partners to get tested before you have sex with them. That should be a priority!! Some of you may laugh but get it done. Guys and girls will tell you that they don't like condoms, but ignore that. Use Them!!!! Better safe than sorry. Oh and one more thing, RAP MUSIC doesn't make kids have SEX. Stop blaming that industry for your SEXUAL BEHAVIORS!!!!! I'm so sick and tired of hearing this mess. First it was Rock 'N Roll, then it was The Blues, now it's HIP HOP!!! Grow up and talk to your kids, some will listen and some won't. It's their choice. Those parents that doesn't want to teach their kids about SEX, shame on you. Better teach them at home, than for them to go out and experiment first. They'll come back pregnant or becoming a father too soon!!!! Get out of the BOXES. They want to know, all you have to do is tell them. I've talked to mine since they were younger than teenagers. Kids as young as 8 years old are having SEX and getting pregnant. Like I said, BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY LATER. Girls bring the babies home, boys don't. And by the way, every man be it young or older should get a DNA test. A lot of that is going around too. Even in MARRIAGES. There's a phrase that we have here: Mama's Baby, Daddy's Maybe? Just think about that!!!! I not trying to sound harsh, but let's keep it real. I've seen it all!!!! Maybe this will educate a lot of you. Guys and Gals you need to think before you leap, everything that looks good maybe messed up internally. Looks are outter. What happen to what's inside of a person? Brains and Heart. One question that everyone should ask themselves: Would you marry that person if they weren't pregnant? ONE NIGHT OF PASSION CAN BE A LONG TERM OF MISERY!! IT ONLY TAKES ONE TIME! Protection, Protection, Protection!!!!!
The only thing I didn't like was that it made abstinence/religious people look like crazies. There was never the message of "We should wait until we're married." Marriage was never talked about. It was always "We should wait until we're ready". This leaves the door open to premarital sex which is more damaging to kids than anybody realizes.
I, really liked this movie alot and am happy that it's on Lifetime!!
I agree - there is a rather unfortunate medical error in this film. Syphilis is not a virus, nor is it treated by a vaccine. Syphilis is a bacteria and is treated by an antibiotic (an intramuscular form of penicillin). If you believe you have contracted syphilis, please consult your health care provider.
this was based on something that actually happened in georgia. it was a story done by dateline little 15 year old girls sleeping with like 50 ppl. we watched the dateline episode in one of college classes. gross to think this stuff actually happens.
i wood like this movie
I am concerned with the content and message of this film. This film is a narrative feature about a Syphilis outbreak in a high school. I understand that this film was neither a documentary nor was it intended to be a public service announcement. I also understand that pointing out fiction in a narrative feature is like saying there is news in a newspaper. However, I am concerned with the tone of the film, which appeared to be cautionary in nature.

The film seemed to point out the danger of misinformation and myths surrounding sexually transmitted infections. This point was best illustrated when the antagonist was so cavalier in saying, “Just give me my magic bullet” to the nurse/counselor. However, later in the film, the students who were positive for Syphilis were given a “magic bullet”, in the form of a shot of Penicillin. However, while the nurse was administering the Penicillin, she explained that the Penicillin would “stop the virus in 7 to 14 days”. Penicillin is an antibiotic and antibiotics have no effect on viruses. In fact, there is no cure for viruses, there are only medications that suppress, but do not eliminate, viruses. In this case, administering the antibiotic Penicillin early on in a syphilis diagnosis is a “magic bullet” because Syphilis is a bacterial infection that responds to antibiotics. Viruses, however, do not respond to antibiotics. The danger here is not with Syphilis itself, but rather with teenagers, or parents of teenagers, thinking that there is a “magic bullet” or cure for actual viral infections like HIV, HPV, Herpes, and Hepatitis.

I am not saying that your organization should be responsible for its audiences choices any more than a record label should be responsible for the actions of its rap music listeners, to use a popular example. The difference is that rap music is not masquerading as a vehicle for warnings and messages of awareness. And, I believe that your film was trying to send a message and influence your audience’s actions by encouraging responsibility and awareness. The danger is that, in the end, the kids in your film were just given a shot and sent on their way. If a misguided viewer applies the same logic to an actual virus, like HIV for example, they could find out the hard way that there is no cure for HIV or other viruses. While I appreciate that your organization is attempting to raise awareness about and illustrate the dangers of sexually transmitted infections, I am very disappointed in your inability to do adequate research on the subject. I urge you to be more conscientious in the future.
I LOVE THIS MOVIE .. I WISH IT CAME ON T.V TODAY!
oh i think this is a good movie.
There is a HUGE medical error in this film. When the school officials are giving out advice and shots, they refer to syphilis--TWO TIMES--as a virus. It is most definitely NOT a virus. A virus is not really curable, it simply goes away or remains in the body in a latent form. Syphilis is a gram-negative bacterium. Bacteria can be killed by antibiotics in most cases if the treatment begins at an optimal time--early. Syphilis is bacterial and it is curable by administration of strong antibiotics. Syphilis is NOT a virus--and I'm really surprised that they made such an error in this film!
i love this movie and it really opens yours eyes to other things than just HIV/Aids
