Charcoal-efficient Stoves Help Thousands of Families in Haiti
Recently celebrating its one year anniversary, The Adventure Project launched its holiday giving challenge with an event in New York City where many of the cities top, young entrepreneurs donated to give stoves to families in Haiti.
Employing local, female vendors in Port au Prince, The Adventure Project distributes the charcoal-efficient stoves to over half a million people who are still living in tents. Using half as much charcoal as open fires and drastically reducing toxic smoke, the stoves are practical for heat and cooking, while addressing major respiratory health concerns for families.
