After eloping, a young couple returns to the groom's boyhood home to tell his wealthy mother of their good fortune. While his mother demonstrates excitement and good will towards her son and his new bride, after a string of near-"accidents," the young woman becomes increasingly convinced that her new husband's mother is planning to kill her.
