After losing her husband, her job and sense of self, Kate Fishers is making a fresh start as a professor, but someone can't forget her past. As a reporter, she had interviewed a man who turned out to be a serial killer. Kate didn't believe he was in fact the dangerous September Slayer, and he committed another senseless murder after the interview. She was haunted by the thought that the victim, Laura Rose, would still be alive if she had turned the interview over to the police immediately. Kate must now figure out which one of her students wants her dead -- before it's too late for her and her son.
