Matt Barr has joined the cast of the Exclusive Media feature “Parkland” and will play surgeon Paul Mikkelson in the JFK assassination drama. Barr joins Zac Efron, Paul Giamatti, Jacki Weaver, Jackie Earle Haley,Marcia Gay Harden, Colin Hanks, Ron Livingston, Mark Duplass, Billy Bob Thornton and Tom Welling in the film.

Matt starred alongside Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton as Johnse Hatfield, an irrepressible, young lothario with an unquenchable appetite for romantic trouble, in the History Channel mini-series “Hatfields & McCoys.”

In 2010, Matt was cast as a series regular in the CW series “Hellcats,” playing Dan Patch. The series premiered on September 8, 2010. He also had a role as Billy “The Kid” Rhodes on the USA network TV series “Necessary Roughness” in 2011.

Barr recently starred on mystery horror series “Harper’s Island” as Christopher Sullivan. In between 2009 and 2010 he guest-starred in American hit series such as “Castle,” “Trauma,” “Friday Night Lights” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” Additionally he portrayed David “Puck” Rainey, one of the alumni of “The Real World: San Francisco,” in “Pedro,” Nick Oceano’s 2008 biographical film on the life of AIDS educator Pedro Zamora.

Some of Barr’s other roles include playing Ian Banks, Peyton Sawyer’s (played by Hilarie Burton) stalker on “One Tree Hill.” Barr has also portrayed guest and recurring roles on popular television series “ER,” “Bones,” “The O.C.” and “Commander in Chief.” He starred in “Saving the King” as the king’s brother.

Barr appeared in the 2008 film “The House Bunny” as Tyler, one of the university’s students.
