Frances Conroy

Frances Conroy attended Julliard School for acting and is best known for playing “Ruth Fisher” on the television series "Six Feet Under."   Her work on the show won her acclaim and several awards, including a Golden Globe® for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series Drama in 2004; two Screen Actors Guild Awards; as well as several Primetime Emmy® nominations.  Conroy is also known for playing “Moira O'Hara” on the television mini-series "American Horror Story,"  which garnered Conroy’s first Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress on Television nomination, as well as an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie.  She has also worked on hit shows such as "How I Met Your Mother," playing Neil Patrick Harris’ mother Loretta Stinson; "Desperate Housewives," and "ER."
