About The Murder of Princess Diana
Inspired by the book of the same title, this fictional retelling focuses on the hours leading up to and directly following the tragic deaths of Princess Diana, her companion Dodi Fayed and their chauffeur, Henri Paul. The movie follows Rachel, an American journalist in Paris, who is present the night of the fateful accident and witness to the crime scene. i love watching LIFETIME.And i hope one day i could be in a lifetim movie!
I find it interesting that he and I both employed so many of the same rumors and conspiracy theories, i.e.: the similarity between Diana's accident and MI-6’s failed attempt to assassinate Yugoslav Republic President Slobodan Milosevic, by using a blinding strobe light to disorient his chauffeur as his car sped through one of Geneva, Switzerland’s, road tunnels; an informer on the Ritz staff; Diana's alleged pregnancy; presence of various government's intelligence agents in Paris at the same time; the fear that the mother of a presumed future king of England would marry a Muslim; accident witness statements about a 'bright' light that were ignored; the failure of closed circuit TV video in the tunnel, the long, and slow ambulance ride to the hospital, the driver's contradictory blood alcohol and carbon monoxide levels, plus several other similarities in both books.
But Mr. Botham(whom I do not know) and I approached our books from two TOTALLY DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES. His book (and movie) center on a reporter using the 'evidence' to prove it was murder, not an accident.
My book comes at the subject from the point of view and plotting by the mysterious conspirators. It is the other half of the story!
One of my earlier novels, 'Hitler's Daughter,' (ISBN 0-595-00663-4) was made into a television Movie of The Week. I thought my 'To Kill A Princess, The Diana Plot' would be my second book-to-movie, but Noel Botham beat me to it.
Congratulations to him for a job well done.
