Annie Potts is best known for her role as Mary Jo on the hit comedy series “Designing Women.” Her recent television credits include a recurring role on “Law & Order: SVU” and appearances on “Ugly Betty,” “Men in Trees,” “Huff” and “Joan of Arcadia.” Potts also starred in the Lifetime Original Movies “Defending Our Kids: The Julie Posey Story” and “Queen Sized,” and was twice SAG Award–nominated for her starring role on “Any Day Now.” Potts also spent two years on CBS’ “Love and War,” for which she received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. She made her feature film debut in the comedy “Corvette Summer” as a quirky would-be prostitute, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture Acting Debut - Female. Critical and audience raves quickly followed for her standout performances as the droll, Brooklyn-brogue receptionist in Ivan Reitman’s smash hit comedies “Ghostbusters” and “Ghostbusters II.”
