When a young child dies on the operating table, everyone on the surgical team is fired except prominent surgeon Ken Garrett. Not that it matters. Ken is so racked by depression and guilt that he can't work. Hopeful of clearing his name and ending his misery, his wife — a lawyer who represents a nurse from the ill-fated team — investigates the death.
