Magic Beyond Words: The J.K. Rowling Story Movie Cast & Characters
Born Joanne Kathleen Rowling, the author was raised in England. As a child, J.K. Rowling had an active imagination and excelled in school. Her passion for writing began at a young age. She moved to Portugal to teach after graduating from college. It was there that Rowling met and married her first husband. After their divorce, she was a single mother in Scotland living on welfare, but she was determined to provide for her daughter. With nothing to lose, she sent a novel she penned to various publishers, hoping for a break.
Poppy Montgomery will star in “Unforgettable” this fall on CBS. For seven seasons, she graced the small screen as FBI agent Samantha Spade in the CBS hit drama “Without a Trace." Montgomery received critical acclaim for her edgy breakout performance as Marilyn Monroe in the 2001 CBS movie “Blonde,” and she recently starred in the Lifetime Original Movies “Lying to Be Perfect” and “Murder in the Hamptons.”
