Q&A with Dolly Parton Dolly Parton, star of the upcoming Lifetime Original Movie “A Country Christmas Story,” shares her holiday traditions, childhood holiday memories and whether she’s been naughty or nice, in this exclusive Q&A.

What is your favorite holiday tradition?

No matter what, I always make it home for Christmas. I love to go to my Tennessee Mountain Home and invite all of my nieces and nephews and their spouses and kids and do what we all like to do – eat, laugh, trade presents and just enjoy each other…and sometimes I even dress up like Santa Claus!

The holidays aren't complete without...

Family – especially the little ones. Their Christmas joy is my Christmas joy.

What's your favorite holiday song?

I know it’s corny –but I love Jingle Bells!

What holiday dish does your family make every year?

All of us are good cooks and believe me, we cook enough to feed an army. All of the traditional southern dishes are on my table but I am always partial to a great baked ham or a pork shoulder. It’s lip smacking good!

What's your fondest childhood holiday memory?

My brother Randy was born at Christmas time so I had the greatest gift of all – my very own real life doll. I carried him around like a little sack of potatoes and thank God I never dropped him –then it would have been my Christmas nightmare.

What is your holiday wish this year?

My wish for my family is good health for us all but my wish for the world is a day when there is less war, less suffering and less pain.
