This is a fabulous movie and makes you think twice about feeling sorry for oneself. For one,Liz Murray (played by Thora Birch), didn't feel bad for herself, she took her situation and turned it around for the better by being accepted into Harvard..which is profound because anyone else in her situation would have suffered. Liz saw the suffering of homelessness and saw "what not to become" so the choice to finish High School and attend college is a great "rags to riches" kind of movie that everyone should watch. this movie inspired me that we can do anything we set our minds to, if we make the right choices and follow through on our goals.
This a wonderful, inspiring true story that I hope many can see and imagine their dreams and goals in life coming true.and actually succeed in making them come true. This story about Liz surviving such adversities in her life and of those that were supposed to care and protect her at such a young age is well potrayed and still somehow I believe that the real Liz went through so much more and I wish and pray that she may continue to inspire all those that are willing to hear her story and admire her strength.
