About the Movie

Golden Globe Award nominee Thora Birch (“Ghost World,” “American Beauty”) and Kelly Lynch (“Charlie’s Angels,” “Drugstore Cowboy”) star in “Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story,” an inspiring drama based on the life of Liz Murray, a young woman raised in poverty by loving, yet drug-addicted parents, who rose above it all and ultimately attended Harvard University. By the age of 15, Liz’s life was in a downward spiral — she was alone and living on the streets. Profoundly affected by her mother’s AIDS-related death, Liz was forced to look at her future and make some significant changes. She turned her life around by getting off the streets and going back to high school. After earning her diploma in just two years, Liz won a New York Times scholarship for needy students, enabling her to attend Harvard University.(2003)
