When the GREAT AMERICAN STORE accidentally orders 60,000 Christmas Lights- hardworking employee LOU BOYD decides to start a "Christmas Lights Contest" to sell off the excess decorations. The store's attractive owner DIANNE CROUCH wants to keep the very profitable contest going at all costs, despite the fact that the competition has put the local population at each others throats. Ultimately, Dianne learns the true meaning of Christmas, and despite her materialistic nature, falls in love with blue collar, well-meaning Lou.
