Character: Executive Producer
Marta Kauffman co-created and Executive Produced the Emmy Award-winning series “Friends.” Previously, Kauffman co-created and co-Executive Produced “Dream On” where she received an Emmy Award nomination and a CableAce Award for writing the episode “For Peter’s Sake.” Kauffman also co-created “The Powers That Be” for Norman Lear. In addition, Marta co-created and served as Executive Producer on the series “Family Album” and “Veronica’s Closet”. She was Executive Producer on “Jesse” and the one-hour drama “Related.”
Marta served as Executive Producer of the documentary films, “Blessed is the Match: The Life and Death of Hannah Senesh” and “Hava Nagila: The Movie”.
She also Executive Produced “Five”, 5 short films about breast cancer as well as “Call Me Crazy”, 5 short films focusing on mental illness, both for Lifetime Television.
Marta also wrote and directed 3 short films, “Georgia”, for WIGS, a new YouTube Channel.
Marta began her career writing book and lyrics, including the musical version of the movie “Arthur,” as well as the widely acclaimed “Personals,” receiving an Outer Critics Circle Award and a Drama Desk Award nomination.
Kauffman lives in Los Angeles with her husband, composer Michael Skloff. She has three children: Hannah, 24, Sam, 22, and Rose, 14. She serves on the Board of Trustees of Oakwood School, Big Sunday and CalArts. She was named one of the 25 Most Influential Mothers by Working Mother magazine.
