An actress equally at home on stage, screen, and television, Dale has created a rich gallery of memorable characters in all three media. Among her numerous films awaiting release are “White Bird in a Blizzard” (with Shailene Woodley and Angela Basset), “The Trials of Kate McCall” (with Kate Beckinsale and Nick Nolte), “Blues for Willadean” (with Beth Grant and Octavia Spencer), “San Patricos” (with Beau Bridges and Kris Kristofferson), and this year's Sundance Festival hit “C.O.G.” Other feature films include “Winter’s Bone” (for which she won the 2011 Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actress), “Iron Man 3,” “The Guilt Trip” (with Barbra Streisand and Seth Rogen), and “Being Flynn” (with Robert DeNiro, Paul Dano and Julianne Moore).

She is familiar to television audiences for her recurring roles as Martha, the werewolf matriarch, on “True Blood,” and Patty ‘the daytime hooker’ on “My Name is Earl.” She has also guest starred or recurred on such shows as “Breaking Bad,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Southland,” “Two Broke Girls,” “Weeds,” “Criminal Minds,” “CSI,” “Sordid Lives,” “Bones,” “The Closer,” “Ugly Betty,” “ER,” “Gilmore Girls,” “Frasier,” and “The X-Files.”

Her extensive stage work includes the Broadway production of “The Merchant of Venice” with Dustin Hoffman (directed by Sir Peter Hall) and work with the Signature Theatre Company, Playwrights Horizons, and Manhattan Punch Line’s Improv Theatre. Numerous regional theatre credits include 3 seasons developing new works for the stage at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center in CT. She recently won two L.A. Ovation Awards for her work in Del Shores’ “The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife” and “Southern Baptist Sissies.”
