Moccasin Slippers
These slippers are cushy and perfect for a night in with popcorn. They'll keep your toes warm no matter how cold it is outside.

Materials
Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick®
80% acrylic, 20% wool
6 oz (170 g) 108 yd (98 m) ball
1 ball each #122 Taupe (A) and #112 Raspberry (B), or colors of your choice
1 pair size 13 (9 mm) straight needles, or size to obtain gauge
1 set size 11 (8 mm) double-pointed needles, or size to obtain gauge
Size J-10 (6 mm) hook
Large-eyed, blunt needle
Gauge
9 stitches and 13 rows = 4" (10 cm) in stockinette stitch using size 13 (9 mm) needles.
Be sure to check gauge.
Heel
Using A, cast 6 stitches onto straight needles. Work flat in stockinette stitch (knit right side row, purl wrong side row) for 2-" (3")
[6 (7.5 cm)].
Foot
Cast on 4 (5) stitches at beginning of next 2 rows-14 (16) stitches.
Work even in stockinette stitch until piece measures 6- (8)" [16 (20 cm)] from cast-on edge.
Shape Toe
Continuing in stockinette stitch, knit 2 stitches together at each end of the row, every other row, until 6 stitches remain.
Toe Flap
Work even on these stitches for 2- (3)" [6 (7.5 cm)].
Bind off.
Cuff
To assemble, sew both sides of the heel flap to the foot of the slipper. Fold toe flap back and sew both sides to foot.
Starting at back seam between heel and left side of foot, with double-pointed needles, pick up 15 (17) stitches along left side, 5 (6) stitches along front, 15 (17) stitches along right side, and 5 (6) stitches along back of slipper-40 (46) stitches in total.
Join in the round, and work 2 rounds in knit 1, purl 1 rib.
Round 3 Work 14 stitches in ribbing, knit 2 stitches together, work 4 stitches in ribbing, knit 2 stitches together, work in ribbing to end.
Round 4 Work 13 stitches in ribbing, purl 2 stitches together, work 4 stitches in ribbing, knit 2 stitches together, work in ribbing to end.
Bind off relatively tightly in ribbing, and weave in ends.
Tie
Using B and crochet hook, crochet a chain 35 (40)" [90 (100) cm] long. Thread through the ribbing, and tie in a bow at the front.
