Daughter Throws Dad's Prize Catch Back Onto the Field

Posted by Addie S. 09/16/09 1:09pm GMT

After making the game's most impressive catch (and he's only a fan!), this dad handed the game ball to his daughter ... and the little girl promptly tossed the prize possession back onto the field!

So the question is ... Could you forgive someone for throwing your prize ball back on the field like this dad did?

Is It a Cat, or the World's Cutest Snake?

You gotta give it to this kitten: She sure knows how to make herself cozy. The phrase, "Snug as a bug in a rug" comes to mind ... only in this case, it's a cat in a coat. Too. cute. for. words.

We Found the Real "Big Apple"!

Posted by Addie S. 09/01/09 3:48pm GMT

Three-year-old Ianthe Whiteley (left) was lucky she didn't get hit in the head by this 16-inch (in circumference) Bramley apple when it feel where she was playing in a neighbor's yard, reports the UK's Daily Mail. Her father says the fruit is the size of his little girl's head.

Their neighbor, 93-year-old George Wright, planted the apple tree 28 years ago but says he's never seen it grow an apple as large as this one. He plans on giving it to his sister-in-law so that she can make an apple crumble — rumor has it this gigantic apple is enough for her to make not one but two apple pies!

The Hottest New Tourist Attraction? The Bum Tree!

Posted by Addie S. 08/26/09 4:31pm GMT

Hard to believe, but a simple tree in New South Wales, Australia, is the town's hottest new tourist attraction.

Well, maybe it's not an entirely simple tree ... See, the gum tree's trunk has actually grown into the shape of, well, a bum. Hence the tree's nickname, the "bum tree."

Apparently out-of-towners and locals alike have taken a liking to the tree's rear view and stop by often to look and take pictures.

Would you make the bum tree a destination for your next vacation?

Get Squirrelized or Squirrelified!

Posted by Addie S. 08/18/09 3:44pm GMT

Little did this squirrel know that simply by sneaking in to this couple's photo, he would become an instant Internet celebrity!

The couple — hiking in Canada — were attempting to take a portrait of themselves when the little guy crept into their picture. Thinking National Geographic's photo editor might appreciate it, they sent it in, where it was chosen as part of the Daily Dozen gallery. And so Nuts the Squirrel became the most famous squirrel on the Internet.

And now — just in case you felt left out — this website has been created to help you Squirrelize or Squirrelify your own photos! Since "Project Runway" is debuting this Thursday, we thought we'd give Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum the squirrel treatment ourselves! We think they'd approve ...

These proud parents took photos of their son Alexander "Lex" Josef Smirnow every day for a whole year to document his first 365 days on earth. (Keep an eye out for the adorable props they use to showcase holidays — and Election Day '08!) These are some seriously adorable parents with a seriously adorable baby!

The dancing baby on "Ally McBeal" was sooooo 1997. Much more hip? The rollerskating babies in this Evian commercial. Genius!

Look familiar?

No, believe it or not, this isn't an animated still from this summer's hot 3-D cartoon movie "Up." It's actually a real hot air balloon floating over France, where the world's largest hot air balloon rally is taking place!

Have you ever been in a hot air balloon? Would you take a ride in this house held up only by balloons? Tell us now!

Total Eclipse of the Heart

Kudos to this woman who — while watching the solar eclipse in China yesterday with her pet poodle — remembered to not only protect her eyes but her pooch's as well!

(Even though the moon covers the sun during a total solar eclipse, it can still be dangerous because the sun's light still shines equally as brightly when the moon isn't completely covering it. How many people know that and remember to protect their pets' vision as well as their own!?)

Posted by Addie S. 07/17/09 3:34pm GMT

It's just a little past 3 in the afternoon, our stomachs are starting to growl and what picture do we stumble upon while clicking around our favorite websites? A photo of the world's largest cupcake.

Culinary Olympic winner Michelle Wibowo baked the record concoction and served it up free to visitors at the Covent Garden Real Food Market in London. The massive pastry has over 75 kilograms of sugar, over 200 eggs and over 50 blocks of butter — delicious!

We wish we were in England right about now! How about you?
