Lock in the URL, Bellas, and join me I'm hosting a Sizzling-hot Avon Romance Radio Call-in Show with Top Historical Authors - and RBTB faves -- Jenna Petersen, Sophie Jordan, Lorraine Heath, Gayle Callen/Julia Latham, and Elizabeth Boyle!
Hey, kids! YOU can be part of the show! Lock and load (347) 826-9686 into your phone. Then call in with your question for the authors, about their books, their lives (and the wicked-hot sub-genre of historical fiction, its feisty heroines and the larger-than-life heroes that bust the big grovel to the cheeky chicks by novel's end).
I'm counting on you to come up with the questions that are gonna rock the show! If
you're not into being on the air, just listen here on the web while you work or play online. Check it out now to set a reminder for the show.
I've mentioned before that I've always been crazy about talk radio, from NPR to Howard Stern, and a certain program on the Sirius Playboy channel - Tiffany Granith's "Afternoon Advice" -- that knocks my socks off. There's just something invigorating about entertainment that floods the senses that aren't visual; I love reading for the same reason. But funnily enough, I'm not crazy about audiobooks, because I don't like hearing someone else's voice in place of the characters' as I hear them.
I have to admit that I also fear driving and trying to listen audiobooks, because the voices relax me too much. And I've never listened to an audiobook that had any sensual scenes. I wonder what's lost/gained listening to those scenes I love so much. Maybe you can tell me.
Encore due! Check out Romance Radio 8-9 pm Pacific/11pm-12am Eastern) Wed, July 30 for Avon's "Ladies of the Night" paranormal authors show.

The only talk radio I listen to is when my husband has KFAN on--sports talk, but I get sucked into it just the same.
I do like listening to some audio books--but I think I enjoy non-fiction on audio more so than fiction.
Orannia--we finally made the switch to high speed...life is good.
Apologies for being AWOL. Unfortuantely, I can't listen online at work or at home (don't even get me started on dial-up...I'm going to fix it...eventually!). Good luck with it all QB - I'm guessing you'll be a natural :)

As far as talk-shows go, I never really listen to them. If the radio is on, this Rocker/Biker chick better have music on, preferably rock-n-roll, hehe. Well, hope it all goes well and look forward to it and those pertinent questions there, Queen Bella, hehe (wink wink)!
Hope you'll be hanging withus, Cy! I felt the same way when Howard went to Sirius, but he's pretty unbridled now on sirius. the thing about Howard is that he's not a mean-spirited guy. He's an idiot and knows it (embraces it), he has no compunction letting people get on the air and make entertaining fools of themselves. But I think he's basically a good person. And the "odd" individuals who "grace" his show, he speaks about with a twisted sort of respect. It's all quite fascinating. I think he's a pretty good guy at heart. But an idiot, nonetheless.
Mon, i'll be looking forward to seeing you! You would totally rock with lots to ask the authors of this show, especially as an author.
Stace, really had fun today over at your place at trelainastarblazer.blogspot.com! Thanks for the promo of the radio show. And, sheesh, that hottie from a couple days ago? yikers.
I know you were reading the new Suz Brockmann, Stace. I LOVED it, especially Izzy's portion. What's your take?
I sometimes buy audio books read by somebody I'm into. Got loads of things read by Paul McGann, when I had my Eighth Doctor Who crush... He has a gorgeous voice. Books I might not normally have bought as print books either... thrillers and stuff.
I haven't listened to audio books in years. I find myself too distracted to listen unless I am working on something with headphones on to block out the outside noise. I used to love listening to Jonathan Brandmeier, Danny Bonaduce, and Steve Dahl back in the 90's. Fun stuff. Now I don't listen much to talk radio.
Audio books. I used to own the Neal Donald Walsh Conversations with God books on tape. I was listen to Ed Asner's voice as God and had a couple of epiphanies as a result. I think for a long drive they can be a nice companion, and they're great for people who get car sick reading. *grin*
