Goodness; Gracious

"Rogue Angel" author Michele Hauf GuestBlogs tomorrow!
Check inside for Anna Campbell exclusive news!

Last night was remarkable for many reasons. But most impressive was the respect Barack Obama and John McCain showed for Americans when they addressed us. They could have whipped supporters into frenzies of self-righteous victory or grudging defeat. Yet they chose to foster tones of reconciliation and unified optimism.

I wouldn't have expected any less from either man.

We romance fans surely know a fictional, larger-than-life knight in shining armor when we read one.  Last night, the world couldn't mistake Obama and McCain for who they are: real-life heroes — American heroes.

America flippin' rocks.

President-elect Obama promised his daughters a puppy as a reward for their hard work and sacrifice during his campaign.  What present do you think Obama should front Michelle?  Jewelry?  Spa time?  — and — Did you read more or less romance during this election cycle?  If yes, what'cha been reading?

She’s done it again, Gawd love ‘er. Bella Anna Campbell’s January release, “Tempt the Devil” is a triumph — a paean to sensuality, love and the indomitable human spirit.

Like Campbell, it’s smart and a little bawdy. But also, it’s devastatingly intimate, as well as the kind of romance that’ll ruin you for others for a while. Sorry.

You can catch an exclusive excerpt from “Tempt the Devil” in the RBTB newsletter, Thursday, Nov. 13. Plus, Anna kicks off her TTD cyber tour right here, Thursday, December 11. You’ll also get a gander at my 2008 Year’s Best list. Seriously? Preorder “Tempt the Devil” now. And, um, try to have a squeeze nearby while you’re reading it. If you know what I mean…

I agree with Amy that she'd probably love some down time, away from the media. Maybe a nice trip to a very private resort where they could all bask in the sun and play on the beach and re-connect as a family, because I'm sure they've been apart more than they've been together these past months.

I'm so excited to see small children in the White House again. I had to laugh about the puppy. I do believe Malia and Sasha have their daddy wrapped around their fingers. I'll enjoy hearing about their White House escapades, but also hope the press affords them plenty of privacy.

Gosh. I hope that doesn't make me sound -- horrors! -- mercenary.

It's lovely, really, your concern for the health of their family unit. But since we know he'll be giving all his time to the job for the next four years, perhaps eight, nothing soothes so well as that little blue box. Or so I'm told. :)

Yeah, I was thinking that some private away time, somewhere lovely, would be the best gift. A little holiday, just for them, before he takes up the massive responsibility ahead of him.

I stayed up till 2am to watch the election results. I don't know what Barack should give Michelle. Michelle is a classy lady, so maybe a nice piece of jewelry.

Hate to make it about fashion -- cause she's a bright, competent woman -- but she had on some sweet earrings.

His comment that his daughters have earned the new puppy they'll be bringing to the White House almost made me cry :) Is this my generation's Kennedy moment?

It must be, but probably one for the world, too.

Congratulations on your new President-Elect!

What present do you think Obama should front Michelle?

Hehehe - when I read the question I was thinking to myself...why would Obama be buying the Queen Bella a present? And then I thought...because she's the QB! But then I clicked and realized you were referring to Michelle Obama :)

*sinks into floor*

Ah, Orannia, I haven't yet begun referring to myself in the third person. Yet. Very funny! :)
