I was not enlighted by Season Six Project Runway. Iriana, was clearly the front runner from start to finish. There really was not competive edge. The designers were not as edgy as past winners, they seemed to relay to much on I am going home, I am going home. New York, is the Fashion District. Having to go to California has taken the bite out of Rundway. The guest judges were either to old, or outright indignant. Nina, looked pissed off half the time she set in udging and she looked weary maybe from traveling back and forth same goes for M. Kors. Going into Season Seven, please try to have a bit more savvy with some designeers. Designers for Project 1-5 has spinned off more careers for designers. Please make it work for season 7.
I really felt that Althea should've won, but wouldn't have felt disappointed at all had Carol Hannah won.
Over past episodes, we heard the designers and judges talk about not making outfits look too "costumey," but isn't that was Irina's designs looked like?
This was my first season watching Project Runway because my Dish Network package doesn't have Bravo. I don't usually watch reality shows, but this piqued my interest because it was not supposed to be about silly manipulation and back stabbing (Big Brother, Survivor), it was supposed to be about talent. Since silliness prevailed (WHO WEARS HATS LIKE THAT UNLESS IT IS OCT. 31st?!), I can't say I'm planning to tune in in January...
Did anyone else think that Irina's collection was a bit too much like the black outfits in Christian Siriano's runway show for season 4? (But not as good.) And Irina always accused people of imitating her. Hmmm...
I'm with the crowd that thought Carol Hannah's work was the best. After listening to the judges give a tortured rationalization as to why it was OK Irinia did an all-black collection, I stopped watching. I knew who was going to win. I could also tell they were going to place Carol Hannah in third because of their ridiculous musings about how Althea's work was so "street smart" and tuned in to what women want to wear. Based upon all the love for Carol Hannah's work in this forum, I think she's the one who designs things that appeal to women. I am convinced she has a bright future.
I'm also with the crowd who will stop watching this show, but I too will miss the very classy Mr. Tim Gunn -- but I thought that his little pre-runway show dither fit was a bit contrived, and probably a situation manufactured for the cameras. It was fun for a while, but this season was painful viewing.
To Lifetime Rebecca -
The issue is not the fact that this show was produced on Lifetime or Bravo. The issue is that there were too many changes that just didn't work. The move from N.Y. to L.A. was a total disaster. The fact that this location change prevented Michael Kors and Nina Garcia from being there on a regular basis to judge the weekly challenges, was another debacle.
It was obvious to me that Irina was the foregone winner. The decision had already been made. She was perhaps the most obnoxious designer ever to appear on this show. Her meanness wasn't redeemed by humor, wit or even a hint of integrity or human decency. I thought the lack of color in her collection made it look so dull and drab on my HD TV. She is no Christian Siriano, that's for sure! He got away with the black because his designs were so brilliant and unique. Those helmet hats looked so ridiculous that it made me laugh out loud. Her thirteenth outfit was hideous! The problem with Irina is that she is not nearly talented enough to justify her egotistical attitude. She will never succeed in the fashion industry because she has no real vision and talent. She can't get along with others or show them even a modicum of respect.
I must agree with so many others here that Carol Hannah should have been the winner. I loved her collection. That blue gown was a masterpiece of beauty, inspiration and great design. She had so many pieces that were wearable, impeccably constructed and great to look at on the runway. I sincerely hope that she has the success she clearly deserves.
I don't know if I will watch the new season. I am beyond disgusted with this show. The judges sounded so phony and rehearsed in their comments about the three collections. Maybe that's because the outcome was never in doubt? I think this whole season was an insult to me as a viewer. I dislike being taken for granted. No, I will not watch just anything. I expected more from the producers of the show.
The only redeeming thing about this season was the incomparable Tim Gunn. He is truly a dedicated, caring, knowledgeable fashion expert. Now there is someone who is respectful of others, well-mannered, gracious and professional. Irina, take note!
This show has tested my patience and good will. I may give it a look next season, maybe not. I am really disillusioned.
I definitely understand where you're coming from, and appreciate you giving your honest feedback. The good news is that the show's moved back to New York - and in addition to Heidi and Tim, Michael and Nina will be around the entire season. Also, the entire new season was shot in HD - which is a first for Project Runway. Bravo did not shoot in HD.
We, too, loved Carol Hannah and her collection. And I loved Althea's too! Ultimately, I can see and understand why everyone's upset, but I really look forward to next season to see how we've been able to improve things now that we have had a season that was not shot with a huge lawsuit/cloud over its head.
Again, we really appreciate the honest dialogue. Your passion means that there's something very much worth moving forward with in future seasons. Thank you!
I ws very disapointed in the judges decision. If that is what the new york women are wearing I am glad I am part of the other 49 states. I see no one any age wearing that horrible black stuff. It was gothic, dark and ominious. I think judges should look more at what everyone can wear. Just because she put those horrible hats on their heads and called it a "thread" is no reason she should have won. I hope Carol and Althea both get a line of their own because I would buy their things in a heartbeat.
Heidi looked as though she was trying to look younger, due to the combination of harsh makeup and awful outfit. Thought most of what she walked out in this season looked unflattering; time for a new stylist?
Tim getting frantic backstage seemed odd. Did the producers think showing this would add "drama"?
Glad to see the guest judge was someone other than a celebrity. Think these drive-by judgings from "stars" were part of the problem this season, along with not having Michael Kors and Nina Garcia in the same place at the same time for so many challenges.
Fine line the contestants have to walk; either "too one-note" or "not cohesive". As Tim has said, there's no telling how the judges will respond.
For the first time was unable to feel any happiness whatsoever for the winner, due to her immense unlikeability. Wonder what prior seasons' contestants thought about this season, and about the finalists. Would have been nice to hear from some of them backstage.
"If it ain't broke..." How many things have been ruined when they are "new and improved". Going by this season, PR can be added to the list.
Hope I'm wrong.
I think I am finished watching the show. Irina should not have won. She is still a loser in my book. I can't believe they chose her over the other two. What a bad decision for the judges, producers and everyone else associated with the show. I definitely will never buy or wear anything that she designs. I am officially boycotting Irina.
Sadly, Lifetime has destroyed a great series. This season was boring, boring, boring, boring. Irina is a stuck up, viscious, self-centered little dweeb who needs to see a shrink about her 'daddy' issues.
Sorry, Lifetime, I won't watch any future seasons of Project Runway until it is back on Bravo with the original judges full time and original production company. And apparently, several other fans are deserting this sinking ship--just read the other blogs out there.
Unfortunately, this was the last show I was watching on Lifetime as I have lost interest in the vanilla shows this channel propogates. Television is supposed to be ENTERTAINMENT!!!!! Following wanna be fashion designers around week after week with no drama, no story, no FUN, no surprises and then being able to predict the outcome of the finale in week 3 is BORING!
I'm not sure if you are aware that Season 6 was produced with no one knowing what channel it would be on, since both Bravo and Lifetime wanted it and it was hanging in limbo. This next season is the one that should be judged for how well it was produced when it was definitely to air on Lifetime. I'd urge you to give it a chance in January!

We will no longer watch this show ever ever again.....Bye Tim.....we will miss you dearly.........Carol & Althea.......no matter what.....you will be celebrated highly outside of this sham of a competition
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD CHOICE!
WTF!?
The decision was WRONG!
DO NOT BY THIS DESIGNERS CLOTHES.........SHE DESERVES NOTHING IN ABUNDANCE
I agree with the positive comment about Tim Gunn. It is refreshing to see someone on television who presents as professional, and well-mannered. For example, he repeatedly encouraged yet redirected the designers as he perceived necessary. More people in the workforce should role model Tim's professional presentation, and I appreciated how he ended his talks with each of the designers with a "thank you." Also, I agree with the comments that most of the reality shows, and now PR as well, reward bad behavior. I have known many people who were talented in various fields but they lacked people skills and overall good character. Even those that made it to the top eventually failed because they bumped into and harmed one too many people along the way. I pray for Irina's sake she takes time to reflect about the many comments, and do some work on herself. Perhaps, then she can learn to be assertive instead of aggressive and confident rather than arrogant all with humility, class, professional and ethical behavior. PR and other reality shows, consumers are tiring of the shock value and bad behaviors. Media influences our culture, and as such should take a more responsible, professional, and ethical approach. Maybe, Tim Gunn will offer workshops and conferences on such.
I was thoroughly disgusted with irena winning. An all black collection? Come on. Maybe she had some good designs but we sure couldn't see them. Carol Hannahs collection was the most diverse, elegant and colorful collection. And to make matters worse, Irena's model is a LYING, Cheating, Boob taping model and she deserved to be booted. Watch the tapes. It's there. Don't even get me started about christopher. Who was he doing to stay that long? Very pathetic season, project runway. Very sad indeed.
Who in the real world cares about a "cohesive" line? It's not like ANY of us will ever go out and buy the whole "line"! No, we may buy one or two pieces - in which case, one adorable dress (Carol) or a great pair of pants (Althea) is what we'd need.
I just cannot fathom Carol coming in LAST! Then again, she already has an etsy website with very expensive and gorgeous dresses on it - who needs 'em!
I don't care if Irina won...her clothes were ugly and dismal. Who wants to wear something that looks like a equine derby on their head...chain or no! At least you could wear Althea or Carol Hannah's designs. That teal ballgown Carol Hannah made in the last days of the show was spectacular. Irina's karma would be that her line will fail and she'll have to go work for someone. She's a nasty _____________
I do agree tha Carol Hannah shoul have won. Perhaps Irina's bad Karma will come back to haunt her. Who was that British woman with the Oompah Loompah hair?
Please get rid of Nina Garcia. She's irritating, unprofessional and mean spirited. Tim Gunn should be a judge. He's got style and can give constructive criticsim, unlike the jusges last night. PLEASE bring it back ot NYC!
If it does go another season, changes need to be made. But at least it's not as the awful Bravo show Fashion Show with Issac Mitzrahi. OMG what an ass!
It will be on next season and is returning to NYC! Good news!

I'm through with the show as well, and I also will miss Tim Gunn. Models--and tasteless Brits with a bulbous protrusion of hair (a curler?) on their heads--should NOT BE JUDGES OF FASHION. Being a clothes hanger does not imbue good taste.
Carole Hannah's collection was EXCELLENT! Whimsy and wearability is what tied the pieces together. She's a talented designer whose work is impeccable. She should have won (she actually has, but sans the gifts, which are fleeting; her success will last and surpass that of Irina's and even Althea's). Althea is rightfully in second place, and Irina should've come in last. NO ONE would purposely wear any of her designs, especially the idiotic hats. The clothes didn't even read on the TV screen in HD, and for someone who loves black, I hated her designs.
UGH! Get a clue. How about having REAL WOMEN join in as judges? Models, by and large, have godawful taste! Shame! Best of luck and love to Tim Gunn. He's a pearl among swine!
I thought Carol Hannah's collection was the best; beautifully designed and executed and wearable. Very disappointed she did not win; I thought she should have.
Both Irina and Althea are great too but their Bryant Park collections did not seem to reflect the same level of the spectacular designs they put down the runway during the season.
While the show seems to have different temperment now that it is on Lifetime (like less beeped out swear words and not as much drama) the one good thing is that I can watch it with my 12 yr old daughter and not worry about the obvious "f" words and the explicit commercials aired by Bravo.
I have been a loyal fan since the beginning.
Irina's collection was well put together - yes, but what does it matter if you're a snarky witch no one wants to work with? what the hell? you can be competitive without being evil about it.
I liked Carol Hannah's collection. especially her 13th look. but since it didn't have the cookie cutter line through it to 'tie' it all together .. she couldn't win.
Irina's win cements a troubling trend on reality shows that bad behaviour is to be rewarded. I'm pretty sure this is also my last season watching. This makes two shows now that I will no longer watch because of what has been encouraged by passing troublemakers through.
I adore Tim Gunn ... However, this season was a trainwreck of mammoth proportions. I will miss him.
Your assessment that bad behavior is rewarded is right on!
I agree. I will miss Tim, as I'm boycotting the show, too.
I am boycotting this show. The judging is bases on "expert" opinions. However, I think if they want to keep their viewers they should base their choice on their knowledge AND public votes. Aren't we the ones shopping for new designers?!
Irena's ideas were not wearable for the most part - I liked 2 styles in her whole collection and I LIKE black. I've seen her looks from past fashion shows. Yes, there was a cohesiveness - it was overkill to the point of REDUNDANTLY BORING.
Carol Hannah should have won. I LOVED every piece she designed and I would wear all of them. Simply gorgeous. I will keep an eye out for Carol Hannah's work in the future. It will be wonderful to wear her designs and know at the same time I'm supporting someone whose soul is as lovely as her clothes.
I am giving project runway one more chance...I am so disappointed with the choice of designer. They portrayed her as being mean and self centered. Her design style was different from Althea's. However, that being said, they were equal. Who would be more successful? How about the articulate one who knew how to avoid conflict? Who will be easier to work with in the end? Irina's narcissism will limit her success...that is, if she is really as bad as she was portrayed. If she wasn't that bad, shame on Project Runway for showing her that way.
Congrats to Irina on her win
Though personally felt that Carol Hannah's collection was the clear winner.
Carol Hannah's collection represented Beauty and Elegance, well constructed, taylored, variety in style and color. (the others in my op clearly did Not)
I guess that's the NY or LA style that Heidi and the other judges were looking for and they are so out of touch with the main stream. Just maybe that's just why everyone is moving out of LA, NY City. (Magazine subs and advertising down the tubes)
Maybe we just can't trust Hiedi and the other judges to make rational objective, decisions any longer. Sad!
Being from the south, I always love ladies who show and demonstrate style, beauty, elegance, and a touch of class. Thank you Carol Hannah for constructing your collection in that manner.
Keep up the great work Carol Hannah. I hope you will move back to Charleston to work. A fabulous city!
Jack
The winning collection was so far above the other two that it was a no-brainer really.... Not only was it clearly the best, it was so professionally put together, it was impressive. And on top of all that, it had beautiful pieces and outstanding detailing. Very well done. Congratulations to the deserving winner.
I wouldn't buy a thing from Irina because she was an absolute beyotch to all and seems to be basically not a nice person at all. The helmut-like head-gear - been there done that - NOT original at all....and she has the nerve to accuse Althea of copying from HER??? Give me a break - as for the make-up so what if Althea wanted her models to have the same type of eye-make up done - if it fit her collection it fit her collection - Irina seems to think she has some kind of patent on whatever idea she comes up with - I don't think I can watch this show next season if they have such characters like Irina on there again - at least Christian Siriano was very likeable and he was actually GOOD - unlike Irina who is just another wannabee....
Loved Carol Hannah's collection, YES COLLECTION. It was a collection of wearable items. Will be looking for her items in the stores. I am sure she will succeed with her fashion without the help of the Project Runway win...........
They should rename the show "Project Runway just for Heidi Klum". So far all of the collections that have won in this new show seem to coincidently suit her perfectly.
All Black, mostly tights is good design for who? Good design should include many elements including color. I didn't like the collection at all, and I think Irina was rude and conceited, and in the end the collection was boring and overrated.
It looks too much like Heidi Klums show and in the end the other judges opinions don't really matter.
Nobody should have won. They should have cancled the whole show. This was the worse Project Runway I have watched. Who every picks the desingers should quit the bussiness and go to Top Chef.
So the ice queen wins. Gee. What a surprise. Those hats made the models look like birds.
I thought Holloween was over last month, I can not belive who won, there was no style or creativity, not to mention COLOR, and what was with all the HATS, who would ever wear A helmet with and evening gown anyway!!! I guess once you go B,,,K you never come back!! Yes black goes with everything , but this is rediculous. I guess this collection isn't for the average person who never ever walks down a red carpet or is that the Dreded Black carpet in this case. What were the Judges thinking or seeing for that matter, Carol Hannah was clearly the winner her, her designes were refreshing, colorful not to mention BEAUTIFUL, she has it all, pants, dresses, gowns etc. you could see the detail and the time and effort she put into her design, you could see none of this in Irena's clothing, all black is boring, but I guess her collection reflects her own personality, need I say more! I would go out and buy Carol Hannahs clothes at a drop of a hat, I thing there should be a peoples choice award also, or should we say the most practical award or colorful, or wearable....sigh....guess none of your runway stuff would fit into these catagories / Irena! God luck selling your black gothic line, rediculous helmet hats, purses etc. to the masses... at least the judges will buy your stuff, since they seem to see something the rest of the TV viewers did not. Hope Irena sees all of these negative reviews, just like after a broadway show!!!! Next season I hope the judges are all wearing glasses, and not blinders! Glood luck PR with even having viewership next season. CONGRATULATION to CAROL HANNAH you are truely the true winner here, you were robbed!
It is a shame Irina won....Couldn't stand her all season... Very Childish...Selfish person...Spoiled...I hated her collection...Depressing Black...Thinking am I looking at garments for a funeral or what???... Carol Hannah's collection was beautiful in color.... She was beautiful in personality as well...I hope new judges as well come for the new season....
I was rooting for Carol Hannah or Althea's, theirs were both colorful and creative! I would have worn most of all their collections right off the runway. Irina's was dreary, black, leather and fur, and didn't match her description at all! She said that's how a woman would dress to survive in New York? BULLS***! If you're a dominatrix or goth, sure! An every day woman wouldn't wear those, I certainly wouldnt. Rami got taken off because he didn't have the right colors, and even his collection had more color than Irina's! She did not deserve to win solely due to her workmanship. Carol Hannah's was as good if not better because it showed a lot more variety. Irina's was all black, pleated, tailored, fur, black, pleated, knit, tailored, fur... Project Runway, don't expect me to watch season 7 in January like I used to!
Only one word describes Irina's collection: HIDEOUS
Can't believe that Irina won!! Not only was her collection depressing - she does not present herself as someone to respect in the design industry. How could the judges get this so---------------------wrong? Carol Hannah and Althea had collections that were much more appealing to the general population of women from the consensus in my area. After watching Project Runway every season I have my doubts that I will continue. I feel like I have wasted my time every Thursday night at this point!!! Bad call for Heidi and Tim!!
Carol Hannah was clearly robbed. Her designs were beautiful and she was the clear winner. While I like black, Irinas collection was bland and boring. I also don't understand how Irina had the gall to acuse Althea of stealing her ideas when all you have to do is look at Jillian Lewis's Season 5 collection to find those hiddeous hats she sent down the runway. Irina should look at her own actions before accusing others of the same.
What an outrage!!!!!!! Carol Hannah was the clear winner. The only difference between last years' winner and this years' was the hats, leggings and gloves. Christian Siriano's collection last year was also black. What is wrong with these judges???? What kind of message are they sending to future contestants of Project Runway? Simply design an all black collection and you are a sure winner? And to top it all off, Irina was not very nice, or should I just call her cut-throat. I guess that is what it will take to make it in the fashion world. Suggestion to Heidi Klum for Season 7-GET SOME NEW JUDGES!!!
I think it's a shame Irina won. Carol Hanna definitely deserved to win. I thought her clothes were gorgeous and elegant and didn't look like a sci fi hooker's like Irina's. I really don't see what the judges saw in Irina's line. It was almost all black, hated the hats. Boring and awful looking, trashy for the most part! I usually agree with the winner but this was ridiculous!! Carol Hanna is the true winner and looks like most of the posts are in agreement!!
What an outrage! How could Carol Hannah not have won? She clearly demonstrated the most creativity and workmanship. Absolutely beautiful collection and stunning pieces! Irina? Please, give me a break. Her collection was BORING! I have lost respect for the show. I can not help but think someone bought this win because it was so clearly off track. Why was Irina not eliminated for planning to use trademark t-shirts? I mean, that just reeks of poor ethics and judgement and lack of creativity.
Although I am not much of a tv viewer, I tend to watch mostly news channels, history channel, and the home shows. However, PR got my attention because it seemed to be one "reality show" that honored creativity, a solid work ethic, and so on. Thus, I watched PR. Yet, to my dismay, the judges were unequivocally wrong in not choosing Carol Hanna. In choosing Arina, the judges validated character, humility, empathy, compassion and all the other honorable qualities just do not matter. Arina's lux designs were great until the finale; the final collection was monochromatic, uninspiring, unattractive, and substandard marketing. Frankly, I did not feel motivated to purchase any of her items while Carol Hanna and Althea motivated me to want to go shopping and spend money. Moreover, Arina's attitude, character, and presentation that others were almost undeserving of even being a part of PR was clearly inconsistent with her statement "I had some stiff competition." Come on Arina, be authentic, for the majority of the show, you appeared to perceive your competition as unworthy. Perhaps, the judges could utilize a more structured evaluation process that integrates research-based qualities of efficacy. For example, areas of consideration could include creativity, practicality, marketability, personal qualities such as character and so on. Unless, an improved evaluation process is implemented, I won't be a PR viewer. Viewer feedback is PR's quality assurance checks. We are your consumers and without us, there is NO PR. Please, you have a good concept for a show, certainly, better than most. Perhaps, a consumer can be a part of the judging panel along with a more structured, and wholistic evaluation process. Carol Hanna, honey you are the real winner. Your designs were creative, beautiful, inspiring, diverse, and your character appears well-grounded so as to flow with others in a workplace. I hope to see some of your designs so I can purchase them!
I am also very disappointed in this season's winner. It was all black, derivative, and not wearable. Not to mention that Irina badmouthed other designers all season, while doing the very thing she complained about most--stealing ideas. She tried to use copyrighted art on those Hollister-inspired t-shirts, and her own replacement designs for the t-shirts looked like things you can find at any chain store that caters to teens. Why do New Yorkers think that we all want to wear black uniforms all the time? Please give us some color and some outfits that make you feel beautiful, not pseudo-armor with unwearable hats.
This is the worst winner ever!! She rolled her eyes at everyone each week. Too bad the judges didn't see any of the real IMEANA! I may give up watching all together...I still loved season 1 the best!
This is likely why most women, 95% of us anyway, never wear designer clothing because most of it only looks good on the runway. In the case of Irena, even that didn't look good on the runway. What was with the stupid little hats? She is a class A B---h! Most everyone thinks so I believe. She doesn't care if she makes friends and I suppose that's good since she likely won't make any to speak of. She was catty throughout the competition. Every thing out of that wench's mouth was something negative about some other desinger. The looks she gave were horrid. Yes. I suppose her parents are proud that they have raised a snotty, slavic girl. Ooo, good job moms and pops. Hope she has a suitable piece of clothing for each day of the week, in black.
I am soooo disapointed, once again the person who can dress every model in black, same everything right down to those ridiculas hats wins, and of course she is the meaniest one of the bunch! I thought "Fashion" was about diversity, not only edgy but pretty and what would look good on everyone. But no, Project Runway is really letting me down, it will be really hard to watch again knowing the B**** person will win. Exception to every rule Chole, and she is still my favorite. Go Carol, don't let them change you, I loved your outfits, it was colorful, joyful and beautiful, and right now that is just the way we all need to look and feel!
Are we allowed to comment about the fact that Irina -- after being warned once about trademark/copyright violation -- went ahead and copied, verbatim, the "Reasons to Love New York" from the 2008 article in New York Magazine? And then lied to Tim Gunn about it? She even stole the font she used to silkscreen the words!
Given that the t-shirts, and "her intimate thoughts" written on them, were a major factor in her win, this should be grounds for immediate disqualification. If Keith was disqualified for using a pattern book, then Irina should certainly be disqualified for (1) copyright violation, (2) plagiarism, and (3) lying to Tim Gunn by claiming that she just wrote down her own thoughts about New York City.
I expect that this comment will be deleted too. But Lifetime won't be able to hush this up forever -- especially not if New York Magazine sues.
Shame on Irina. Of course she was the one to complain about copycats -- it's just like the goody-goody "family values" people who rant about decency and morals in public, and always turn out to be the ones who have a sex tape, or are propositioning cops in airport bathrooms, or having affairs on the side.
Seriously?
Wow. Someone should, like, buy that shirt and send it to New York magazine. :) They (and their lawyers) would love it!
Are you kiddin' me? The one who thinks she is soooooooo great that EVERYONE copies her.....are you kidding me? Let's talk about the 'model'..... IF the show ran the tape of IRINA's (sp?) model...there ABSOLUTELY was 'double-sided tape' in place....I tape all Project Runway shows, for future viewing...and ran that tape back and saw the 'double-sided tape' peeking out slightly above the dress between the right underarm and right breast area...." so IRINA's model is of in the same caliber that IRINA is full-of-herself, self-serving, and as unpleasant as IRINA. btw....i would NOT buy a stitch of IRINA's 'fashion'....simply because of how much she, IRINA, thinks of herself.....WHAT a nasty person she is...and what a horrible decision!!! The worst decision of all seasons....I am so disappointed.
