LOVE & RELATIONSHIPS
With unpredictable Uranus in Pisces and your romance house since 1998, the past 12 years have been like an extended emotional roller-coaster ride. The highs! The lows! Dizzying indeed. You’re ready to plant your feet on solid ground. On March 11, Uranus will exit Pisces, never to return in your lifetime. What once seemed boring to you is now a breath of fresh air. Could it be, Scorpio, that you’re growing up in the game of love? It sure does look that way. Whether you’re single or spoken for, you’ll want more stability and regularity, and a lot less drama in 2011.

On June 4, lucky Jupiter enters Taurus and your house of committed relationships for an entire year. The urge to merge is almost overwhelming at this point, so take a proactive approach to your love life. If the online dating sites aren’t serving up viable options, consider hiring a professional matchmaker or asking your circle of friends to fix you up. You may find yourself attracted to a completely different “type” after June 4. Since Jupiter rules travel, study and cross-cultural relationships, you may vibe with someone of a different ethnic background. Meeting a mate during your summer vacation (especially if there’s an educational component involved) is a distinct possibility.

From August 30 to December 25, Jupiter will be retrograde, indicating that you might reconnect with someone from your past. This person may live some distance away from you, but it would be worth it to travel and see if the sparks are still there. Perhaps the two of you never got to fully explore your attraction. Divine timing is on your side, so check things out. Reserve final judgment until Jupiter turns direct on Christmas Day. Who knows, Scorpio? One of you may be packing up the moving boxes as the year draws to a close. Jupiter in Taurus is a strong marriage phase for you, and someone may get down on bended knee between June 4, 2011, and June 11, 2012.

Already taken? Co-creating with a partner will be oh-so-fulfilling after Jupiter moves into Taurus on June 4. Come on out of your little bubble world of “just the two of us” and turn your attention toward a shared cause, mission or project. Whether you’re starting a family, a business or a volunteer project, you’ll love working together with your sweetie to make the world a more colorful and interesting place.

Before June 4, coupled-up Scorpios should concentrate on personal care. Being in a relationship is no excuse to “let yourself go.” Even if there are no visible signs of your self-neglect, step to it. Exercise does wonders to burn off stress and ground you in your own self-confidence. As the endorphins and serotonin surge through your body, your sex drive returns with a vengeance. Although you’re the zodiac’s official “freak in the sheets,” you can also go through extended phases of living like a monk. Rev up your own engines by getting back into your body. Sign up for that pole-dancing or burlesque workshop, or try a general cardio dance class that lets you gaze at your reflection in the mirror while you work out. It might be best to abstain from drinking during the first half of 2011, as this can be one of the ways that you disconnect from your physicality. Overeating can also be a way of emotionally padding yourself. The point here is, the more present you are to the delicious sensations flowing through you, the more turned on you’ll be. Your partner will thank you!

If you’re single, there’s one period this year where you’ll want to be extra selective about who you let into your world. Between April 4 and August 4, Neptune will tour Pisces, clouding your judgment and making you extra susceptible to players’ charm. Don’t underestimate the power of sex over your emotions; you just aren’t going to be great at the Samantha Jones–style detachment. Honor the intensity of a physical connection and keep solid boundaries in place.

This Neptune phase can also bring about unplanned pregnancies, so take extra care to use protection — unless, of course, you’re OK with raising a bebe on your own. You may discover that the person you’re interested in has a troubled past, or some unresolved baby-mama drama. Pay attention to those red flags, even if the sex is the best you’ve had in a while.

As for family relationships? On November 11, Mars kicks off a seven-month tour through your third house. Siblings, cousins or other relatives close to you in age could play an important role in your work life as the year draws to a close. You might collaborate on a business venture, particularly an online project. Your circle of friends could go through a radical change, too. This Mars phase revs up your desire to play and see the world. Friends who can inspire you to get up off the couch and explore are the ones to hang with as 2011 wraps up.

WORK & MONEY
Your money motto for the year: Slow and steady wins the race. On January 22, lucky Jupiter kicks off a six-month tour of Aries and your house of daily work. On March 11, Uranus also enters Aries and stays there for seven years. If you’ve been resisting change, Uranus could provoke an unpredictable turn of events that forces you to look outside your comfort zone for cash. This change is long overdue, so roll with it.

You might need to brush up on your technical skills in order to stay in the game. The Information Age is upon us, Scorpio. Stop making excuses and roll with the times. Your mind is like a steel trap for all things digital, and you’ll quickly boost your earning power with the click of that keyboard. Between March 11 and June 4, seven planets will connect with Aries and your sector of work. This is a huge window of opportunity for you. Apply for new jobs, take training seminars and position yourself for long-term security by remaining on the cutting edge of industry processes.

Cutting corners will backfire, so make sure you’re doing the thorough job that your sign is famous for. The devil is in the details, and you want to keep your professional reputation sterling this spring. Show up early for appointments, turn assignments in ahead of time, and communicate honestly if you know you can’t meet a deadline. You want people to think “dependable” when you come to mind.

Simultaneously, you’ll need to loosen your grip on that security blanket ... slowly, Scorpio, but surely. This year Saturn will tour your 12th house, bringing more flow into your career. While it’s comforting to collect a steady paycheck, you may be limiting your earning potential by playing it too safe. In order to grow, you have to let go. That doesn’t mean you should leap into the abyss of the unknown. Saturn is bringing you powerful mentors and guides this year, people you can apprentice with to learn the ropes. Although you may not be compensated financially for this work, it’s a hands-on, in-the-trenches education that can set you up for future prosperity. Put in the time now and your payoff will come by the time Saturn moves into Scorpio on October 6, 2012.

If you’re already an expert in your field, this is a year where you could be paid to mentor, counsel, consult or coach people who are just starting out. This is an excellent way to make money on the side, and possibly transition into this new way of earning your pay before the year is through.

If you’re applying for jobs, there are two eclipses that will speed this process, providing brief-but-important windows of opportunity. The first is a lunar eclipse on June 15, which could indicate the abrupt end of one job and the quick beginning of a new one. The second, a solar eclipse on November 25, indicates a raise, promotion or exciting interview that could start you on a new path quickly.

You work hard for your money, Scorpio, but is your money working hard for you? Two other eclipses light up your house of investments. The first is a solar eclipse on June 1, which will illuminate an opportunity that almost seems too good to be true. While you should do the inspections and research, you’ll need to act fast in order to capitalize on this. Real estate or the purchase of a valuable piece of property may be involved. A lunar eclipse on December 10 could bring another such opportunity. This one may feel a bit more bittersweet. Parting with the item you have a chance to sell can be sentimental and sad, but hanging on to it will make you feel like a prisoner of your possessions. Just. Let. Go.

Mercury is retrograde in your income house from November 23 to December 13, encouraging you to connect with co-workers from your past. They may hold the keys to your prosperity as the year draws to a close. Send out the holiday greeting cards; it’s a great excuse to start up conversations with them and find out what they are up to in their lives.

HEALTH & WELLNESS
With lucky Jupiter in your house of health from January 22 to June 4, you don’t want to wait until spring to start your training. Maybe you can attain washboard abs and buff biceps by the time bikini season rolls around, but you’re going to have to work for it. No more excuses! Get yourself into a program, like a six-month boot camp fitness class. As much as you hate to have people breathing down your neck, you need to be held accountable for your results. If the drill sergeant with the whistle doesn’t motivate you, a charitable mission might. Sign up for a long-distance bike ride or marathon, and start collecting pledges right away instead of training secretly. Programs like “Couch to 5K” or “Team In Training” are worth checking out.

Your stress level at work may be higher, anyway, and these regular workouts will help you manage the intensity. A good endorphin rush is the best high there is for you in 2011. You’re a perfectionist and overachiever, and this year the planets turn up the heat on those tendencies. Clear your mind and regain perspective with short meditations and simple breathing exercises. Taking five minutes here and there throughout the day to inhale and exhale slowly and deeply can decrease the “performance anxiety” you are prone to experiencing.

Your diet also comes under scrutiny, as Saturn in the 12th house can cause some digestion issues to emerge. Colon care is an important focus this year. Drastically reduce consumption of slow-to-break-down foods like red meat and dairy products while upping your intake of high-fiber grains and leafy dark-green vegetables. Processed and packaged foods can also get backed up, which can lead to sluggish energy and, in some cases, disease. Make sure you’re drinking lots of water to keep things flowing.

HOW TO MAKE THIS THE YEAR OF YOU
Your 2011 Mantra: Slow and Steady Wins the Race
Life becomes simpler this year, and you’ll find this to be a huge relief. There’s no magic formula to figure out, no secret code to unlock. If you want results, put one foot in front of the other and keep moving. Time-tested wisdom brings indisputable results. Want to lose weight? Eat healthy and exercise. Want to manifest true love? Meet as many frogs as you can for coffee, until you find the prince. Want to earn more money? Focus on a viable career path and learn what it takes to become a pro. You’re super-disciplined this year, and an apt pupil. Although you’ll feel like a student for much of 2011, you’re poised to become a master. Progress, not perfection, is the goal!
