LOVE & RELATIONSHIPS
Since 2003, unpredictable Uranus has been touring Pisces, forcing many of you Fish to swim against a rough current in your personal life. Finding your place in the world has been a big theme, and you’ve certainly experimented with some interesting identities. As you shifted through different personas, you might have changed partners just as frequently. Finding Mr. Right was tough when you weren’t even sure how to be “The One” for yourself. Even if you stayed steadfastly committed to your “one and only,” it’s likely that you fought an internal battle against your own in-and-out urge.
On March 11, Uranus leaves Pisces, not to return for another 80-plus years. The last seven years have certainly been exciting, and perhaps worthy of a Jackie Collins novel or a book with Fabio on the cover of it. You’re ready to put that book on the shelf now and settle into a more stable romantic groove.
You’ll have some help almost immediately, as lucky Jupiter enters Aries and your grounded second house on January 22. After climbing and climbing, you’ll feel as if you’ve reached cruising altitude. You can kick back a bit, enjoy some domestic bliss and even take a dating hiatus for a few months if you feel like you need to renew the connection to your self. Jupiter will be in Aries until June 4, so you’ll have nearly six months to regain your footing. That doesn’t mean, however, that you’ll be sitting at home watching “Real Housewives” marathons all winter. Jupiter may pique your interest in a totally new type: A stable, somewhat predictable, but also dependable, family-oriented person could rock your world. In the past, you may have been bored by this type. Now he’s as refreshing as a cool glass of water in the summer heat.
You may also meet a mate through work in the first half of the year, especially between March 11 and June 4, when seven planets touch through Aries! Starting a business with your sweetie, or getting hired at the same company, is also a distinct possibility. While this can be a bit of a gamble, especially if your relationship is fairly new, you’ll enjoy spending that extra time together, and you may discover that the two of you make just as good a team in the boardroom as you do in the bedroom.
When Uranus leaves your sign on March 11, it will move on to Aries for a full seven years. No need to rush to “lock in” love or revolutionize the state of your current relationship. Stop to smell the roses along the way. Relish the courtship dance and let yourself be wooed. Although you’ll enjoy being pursued more than you will giving chase, you should still employ the art of seduction. Like Pisces Drew Barrymore, your adorable smile and coy looks will have ’em eating out of the palm of your hand.
Saturn, the planet of maturity, will be touring Libra and your intimate eighth house until October 6, 2012. This is a year where you will also “grow up” in the game of love — emphasis on the word “game” here. You’re a master at luring lovers into your lair, but what do you do once you have ’em there? You’re quick to bore, Pisces, and are guilty of stirring up drama just to keep things interesting. There’s a much richer level of play available. It could involve couples sex workshops, tantric eye-gazing, costumes, even a trip to the adult toy store. That’s the scintillating stuff, but then there’s the deeper emotional connection as well. Finding ways to continue romancing your sweetie through the years feeding each other strawberries in bed, reading Neruda’s love poems, slipping sexy notes into his briefcase will spice things up. The power is in your hands, and Saturn wants you to take it.
If you had a sexual trauma in your past, this is the year to find a great therapist. You may be subconsciously projecting aspects of that situation onto your dates and mates. Saturn steadies the ship and helps you clear lingering psychological issues. Try working with a holistic healer as well, like a Reiki practitioner, energy worker or acupuncturist. Your psychic field is stronger than most people’s. In addition to clearing the issue from your mind, you also want to remove any blocks from your chakras and energetic body.
This Saturn phase began on July 22, 2010, and last year some Pisces went through painful splits with their S.O.s. The division of property could become a challenge this year. You may have to make some tough decisions: Is it worth it to fight over a material possession in the name of “justice,” or are you better off just letting it go? Be careful, because your guilty conscience could cause you to give away the entire farm. Make sure you take care of your own needs, but don’t hang on to anything out of a desire for vengeance.
If you plan to join your finances or property with those of your love interest, don’t take it lightly. You’re a generous, bighearted person, and the idea of hashing out an agreement or contract may seem unloving. It’s not. Having a clear understanding on the front end actually helps you breathe easier. If this person is truly worthy of you, he will understand that your desire for clarity is not an affront to him.
Family relationships come into the spotlight on June 1, June 15, November 25 and December 10, when eclipses touch the Gemini/Sagittarius axis. A parent or child may need special attention from you at these times. Pregnancies — the surprise kind — could also happen near these days. And if you’ve been on the fence about cohabitation, you may finally get the courage to pack up and move in with your fella ... or kick out the lazy bum who’s camped on your couch.
If you’re single, you may be invited to join your honey’s family more officially on one of these days. Warm up that ring finger, as you may soon be sporting some sparkle.
Don’t fret if love takes a while to get off the ground. On November 11, energizing Mars plants itself in Virgo and your marriage sector for seven whole months. Mars usually spends only eight weeks in a sign, so this is a rare event. Heads-up: Mars can initially be agitating, so if you’ve been avoiding a conflict in your love life, it could blow up near Thanksgiving. It’s time to clear the air, so bravely forge through these difficult conversations in the name of bringing back the love. If you’re single, this Mars phase can help you meet a mate through more active engagements, like working out, playing sports or going dancing. That’s as good an excuse as any to get your party on as the year draws to a close!
WORK & MONEY
Money, money, money! Lucky Jupiter will plant itself in your house of earned income from January 22 to June 4, opening up new channels of prosperity. Job searches start to yield more promising results, and the hard work you did in 2010 will begin paying off early in the year. Your talents are in demand, Pisces. On January 4, a solar eclipse could bring a swift opportunity to work with a new group of people. You could switch to a different department or team at work. Ahhh, fresh starts. You could certainly use one! This eclipse could also bring an Internet-based opportunity your way. Although this might not cover all your bills, it will certainly help with some.
On the subject of bills, Jupiter can make you a bit cocky about spending, so you’ll need to be careful. Between March 11 and June 4, seven planets will connect with Aries and your second house of cash money. While you can certainly bring it in this year, you could wind up burning through it just as quickly. Controlling your lust for luxury is so important this year, and it’s going to take a whole lotta willpower. You don’t have to completely sacrifice the bling; just make a budget. Can you buy yourself a treat every month? Yes, and you can do so guilt-free if you know what your spending cap is. Break out the financial-planning software and plug in all your expenses — including the amounts you spend going out for dinner or buying new shoes.
You’ll need to get a better handle on your schedule if you want to stay on top of your game. Look into the option of hiring a virtual assistant for a few hours a week (some great ones work for $15 an hour). Think about it: You’d probably drop 50 bucks on cocktails with the girls without batting an eye, so how about funneling some of that entertainment budget into a better de-stressor than a hangover-producing margarita? Having someone manage your datebook, organize your files and set up appointments for you means your head will be clear for more important tasks.
Work on professionalizing your image between January and March as well. Have a polished photo taken for your LinkedIn profile, and get people to write glowing reviews of your work. Your funky style doesn’t have to disappear, but you might want to tone it down a wee bit when you’re in the workplace. Let your professional persona and sweet smile say hello to clients before your tattoos, piercings and cleavage overpower them. They’ll get to know your creative side in due time.
Handle the basics with unwavering determination: Show up on time (or early) for appointments. Be the first person waiting at the table for staff meetings. Spell-check your presentations and make sure they are graphically appealing. Take on that extra assignment here and there. Be solution-oriented, never a complainer.
There’s good reason for all this “uptight” upgrading. On March 11, erratic Uranus will leave Pisces and move on to Aries, causing some instability in your work-and-money sector. The company you work for may discuss downsizing or relocating, and you want to be in solid standing with them at that point. Proving that you’re a dependable asset is essential. This is not the year to rock the boat on the professional frontier — you’ll have to get those jollies after the five o’ clock whistle blows.
There are some definite high points for your career this year. On June 15, November 25 and December 10, three eclipses touch through Sagittarius, the ruler of your ambitious 10th house. Your professional accomplishments come into the spotlight on these days, and a raise, promotion or bonus could be the result of your hard work. Getting that key meeting could be a piece of cake with these eclipses, so pick up the phone and try one more time. Eclipses open doors, swiftly and suddenly, but they don’t hold them ajar for very long. Act fast, and have your elevator pitch ready. You might suddenly get a few short minutes to share your ideas with a hotshot on these days.
If you’re searching for work, try attending professional events and networking groups for people in your industry in the first half of the year. Although you might not make an immediate job connection, you could get some priceless pointers. People know people, and someone who takes a liking to you could connect you with a friend who is searching for someone with your talents. Circulate. The more you put yourself out there, the faster you will manifest employment.
From April 4 to August 4, your ruling planet Neptune moves into Pisces, opening up a powerful window for you. Your creativity and imagination will be worth their weight in gold. If you work in the arts (or want to), the summer could bring an incredible connection, if not a sale of your work. Neptune will begin a 13-year tour of Pisces in February of 2012 — that’s when the magic of this phase really begins for you. Still, you might already get the ball rolling between April and August. It’s true: You can make money from your imagination.
With Saturn in your eighth house of investments, this is a good year to learn more about making your money grow. Be careful with real estate deals, however. Although you may be intrigued by the idea of flipping fixer-uppers or buying foreclosed properties, Saturn can bring extra challenges. Err on the conservative side, and avoid risky stocks too. Joining an investment club or even taking a basic course can do wonders to boost your financial IQ. Pick up a Suze Orman book while you’re at it.
On June 4, Jupiter moves on to Taurus and your third house of local opportunities for a year. You may feel more free-spirited about employment and opt to work for yourself. Working for an online company or opening up a business close to home could be strong possibilities. You may also want to widen your job-search radius by about 50 miles. Commuting a short distance could be your ticket to new revenue streams before the year is through. If you have handmade goods to sell, consider opening up an eBay store or Etsy shop. Although it may start as a side business, the demand for your brilliant creations may grow into a booming cottage industry by July 2012.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
Drop and give ’em 20! With Jupiter entering your second house of routines on January 22, you are ready to have the boot-camp instructor blow the whistle on you. Practice makes perfect, so don’t feel bad if you can barely eke out a push-up at the beginning of the year. Your disciplined side is back in the driver’s seat, and you’ll begin to see results fairly quickly if you put in a consistent effort.
Your diet is every bit as important as your exercise plan this year. Unfortunately, you’re going to have to follow the rules more rigorously if you want to see and feel results. Invest in a raw juicer and download some great smoothie recipes. Start your mornings off with a burst of live enzymes and vitamins. Overall, you’ll want to incorporate more fresh fruits and veggies into your diet this year. Swap white flour for whole wheat or spelt, sugar for maple syrup, processed foods for fresh-cooked. Since your time may be limited by work, toss ingredients into a slow cooker and you’ll come home to a delicious stew or tender chicken dish that’s nourishing and free of added preservatives.
On March 11, Uranus joins Jupiter in your second house, giving you the urge to shake up your routines and add a more social element to your workouts. Try taking your workouts outdoors and joining a group fitness program with a few of your closest friends.
With Saturn touring your eighth house, you’ll want to pay special attention to your “lady parts” this year. Do you have a great gynecologist? If not, it’s time to find one. Make sure you have the right contraception for yourself and are not throw off by hormonal imbalances. If you’re going through menopause, check out information from the goddess of empowering medical advice for women, Dr. Christiane Northrup.
With Neptune in Pisces from April 4 to August 4, be careful not to take on too many obligations. Although you want to do, have, be and see it all, you run the risk of burnout during these four months. Honor your body’s need for sleep, rest and even solitude. Nothing can drain you more than feeling guilty for not making it to a friend’s first live band performance because you already promised your boyfriend you’d go to his company dinner and your co-worker is expecting you to feed her dog while she’s out of town. Ugh! Learning to say “no” may be the best preventive medicine you can practice.
On June 4, Jupiter goes into Taurus and your sign of platonic partnerships. Grab a close friend and declare her your fitness buddy. The two of you can support each other around your goals and motivate one another to keep on keeping on. Not that this should be such a struggle — end the year with exercises that are actually fun for you, like Nia dance classes, tennis or salsa lessons.
