Gemini Yearly Overview

2012

LOVE & RELATIONSHIPS
Hang tight for your birthday, Gemini, because you’re going to get one heck of a present this year. On June 11, lucky and expansive Jupiter will begin a yearlong visit to Gemini, sparking a new 12-year life cycle. Have you ever felt more ready for it? Not since the start of the millennium, which is the last time you experienced this transit.

For the first half of 2012, Jupiter will visit Taurus, your 12th house of healing and completions. Some Geminis will meet a soul mate or have a karmic pregnancy during this time, as the 12th house is a rather dreamy space. However, it can also be the house of troubles and hidden agendas, and you may have dealt with your fair share of them since Jupiter entered Taurus last June. You may have learned some unpleasant things about someone you trusted. Or, you may have had to face a number of your own demons and commitment fears, perhaps mirrored through the unsavory acts of another person. This would be a good time for couples therapy or a deeper exploration of your own psyche.

The key lesson is to surrender and trust the flow of life — which is easier said than done. (A lesser-known truth about Gemini: You’re a closet control freak!) Trying to predict how things will end up only makes you feel like you’re on a dizzying merry-go-round that’s spinning way too fast. Breathe, Gemini. Meditate. Heck, you could even pray. Do something to get in touch with the divine, and know that you’re surrounded by extra angelic support. When the conditions on earth seem too tough to handle, call on a guardian angel, an ancestor or a guide for a sign. They’re standing by — you just have to ask.

June will mark a turning point, and not just because Jupiter enters your sign. On June 4, a Sagittarius lunar eclipse could bring big changes to your closest relationships. Think back to last Thanksgiving, when a Sagittarius solar eclipse planted the first seeds of this trend. You may be ready to take things to the next level, perhaps getting engaged, moving in together or taking another big step. If you’ve had trouble letting go of someone, this eclipse will give you the courage to finally say goodbye to a toxic person.

A word of caution, though: Don’t act rashly. Love planet Venus will be retrograde (moving backward) in Gemini from May 15 through June 27. This “blackout period” for love happens every two years, and since it’s in your sign this time, you may have to do quite a bit of soul-searching or relationship repair work. Retrogrades bring back the past, so you could also reunite with an old love, or work on forgiving someone who hurt you in the past.

In October, restrictive Saturn ends a three-year visit to Libra, your fifth house of love. Saturn is the wise teacher who raps your knuckles for acting immaturely. You may have learned some tough-but-sobering lessons about impulsively jumping into affairs. Some Geminis struggled to get pregnant, as the fifth house rules fertility and Saturn makes us work harder to achieve results. After October, it should be easier to conceive.

WORK & MONEY
Are you ready for a fresh start? Several chances are coming your way this year. On February 3, creative and dreamy Neptune takes a full-time gig in Pisces, your 10th house of career. Neptune will bring its healing touch to this part of your chart until 2026, making you quite the avant-garde leader. You may take a more behind-the-scenes role or do work with a charitable component. Gemini is a multi-talented sign, and surely you have an artistic gift or two. While Neptune is here, you may just exhibit those hidden paintings at a gallery, perform your singer-songwriter medleys at a coffeehouse, or debut that jewelry line at a department store. Neptune rules film and fantasy, so add some glamour to your work wardrobe. Why not take an acting, public speaking or photography workshop? It’s all about how you spin your image now.

On June 11, lucky Jupiter enters Gemini, blessing you with a fresh 12-year life cycle. Between now and June 2013, your life could take on a whole new direction. By the end of the year, you may not even recognize yourself! This would be the time to take that job in a foreign country or start that business you’ve been dreaming about for years. Plant the seeds between June and October, and then step back a little to assess while Jupiter is retrograde (October 4 through January 30).

A pair of Gemini eclipses also further shakes things up for you. The May 20 solar eclipse could bring a new opportunity, one that bears fruit at the November 28 Gemini lunar eclipse. This is a trend that began with the first Gemini eclipse in December 2010 and will continue through 2014. Every six months or so, a new part of you is born. It’s a little strange, but also pretty cool!

Exciting collaborations are on the rise this year, too. Radical Uranus is in Aries until 2018, bringing an interesting cast of characters into your life. Online, video or technical projects go well, as does anything with a humanitarian twist. If you’re a business owner, you could have a full “virtual” staff, or you may outsource some of your work to offshore service providers.

HEALTH: MIND, BODY & SOUL

The first half of 2012 is all about emotional and spiritual healing. With Jupiter in your 12th house of endings and the subconscious, you need to pay special attention to your soul. Gemini is an intellectual Air sign, so having Jupiter in this watery part of the chart can be quite uncomfortable. You prefer to skim the surface of a lot of different topics, rather than plunging into the depths of your feelings. Yet this healing work is unavoidable now, because the more you try to analyze, intellectualize and suppress your emotions, the worse you’ll feel. You may just throw in the towel and realize it’s easier to face them.

If you’re having trouble releasing an old hurt or an ex, check out the book “Radical Forgiveness” by Colin Tipping, which offers an interesting take on letting go on both a spiritual and a human plane.

Your relationship with your mother or an important woman is energized through July 3, while intensifying Mars visits Virgo, your domestic fourth house. Caution: You can either motivate each other or seriously butt heads. There may be more noise (such as construction or renovation) or perhaps even arguing around the house, as Mars can add tension. Keep the friction at bay by getting the family more physically active or rallied around a household project that creates a fun challenge. A pregnancy is possible; if you’re expecting, be sure to stay on the go rather than just sit around.

On October 3, a two-year period of “boot camp” begins when structured Saturn enters Scorpio, your sixth house of health and fitness. You could get into the best shape of your life, provided you do the work. This is an important time to shed bad habits, and while it won’t be easy, the results can last for the long haul if you do the proper work. A solar eclipse in Scorpio on November 13 could put your health in the forefront. This is a good day to make radical changes to your diet, exercise and time management. You may also decide to hire an assistant or find new people to help manage your busy life.
