This eclipse is the first in a two-year series that will touch on the Scorpio-Taurus axis, evoking changes and developments in both the personal and partnership realms. No more sitting on the fence when it comes to going after your dreams. You’ll be catapulted forward into growth this week, but you’ll also be required to let go of that which no longer serves you. Out with the old, in with the new. There’s no turning back, or even looking back nostalgically, when you decide to barrel forward now. Don’t be afraid to fly solo on some of these missions. Your independent ventures get a boost from Tuesday’s eclipse, and you could make quite a name for yourself over the coming six months. On April 25, 2013, a corresponding lunar eclipse will prime you for bringing in partners, as you’ll have developed your vision enough to welcome a collaborator by then. There’s only one downer in the mix. Mercury, which is retrograde (backwards) from November 6-26, scoots back into Scorpio on Wednesday for the duration of the retrograde. You may feel incredibly misunderstood for the next couple of weeks, frustrated about people’s inability to hear where you’re coming from. Although you are being prodded into the public eye by the eclipse, Mercury retrograde will force you to do some inner work, possibly retreating to your private lair to work through these issues. Your own confidence could dip with this Mercury retrograde in Scorpio, despite other people’s belief in you. While it’s fine to think things through, don’t doubt yourself.

If you can wait until after the 26th to present ideas publicly, great, but if that’s not an option, you’ll have to push through. If you’re making an actual presentation, bring a supportive friend or coworker along who will cheer you on from the back of the room and hold things down like an anchor so you can let go and work your magic without worrying about the details, like working the slide projector. On Saturday, go-getter Mars moves into Capricorn and your social third house until December 25. Your intellectual curiosity is piqued, and you’ll need more mental stimulation. Form a book club or discussion group, hang out on the lecture circuit. This Mars phase blesses you with the gift of gab, giving you stellar sales skills and sharpening the power of your pen.
