MONTHLY OVERVIEW
And…rolling! This month, your life could very well have the surreal feel of a movie set, as the bold Sun in Scorpio travels through your twelfth house of dreams, closure and healing. With practically a coven of planets in Scorpio—the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, and a total solar eclipse—this month feels magical, mystical and more than a little murky. Your dreams and subconscious will be extra active, prompting you to question the line between waking and sleeping, especially when images from your nighttime wanderings start making appearances in your daily life, or you start to experience more deja vus than ever. It’s trippy, yes, but don’t think too much or try to coming up with a definite “meaning” of it all. Now is your chance to simply surrender, letting the mystery of your life unfold. As much as you like to be in the driver’s seat, you’re being asked to hand over the keys to the universe. So do it—even if you own a Maserati. The more you loosen up, the more “magic” you’ll experience, as your life becomes a veritable vision board.
On November 13, a Scorpio total solar eclipse sparks critical change and possibly the end of one life chapter that clears the way for something new. When it comes to excising destructive, codependent or addictive patterns from your life, this eclipse means business, so prepare for an internal overhaul. Hidden information may come to light, or you could have an epiphany that practically feels fated. If you’ve ever acted in ways you don’t quite understand, i.e. you crave security, but are addicted to spending money as fast as you make it…now you’ll have a shot at getting to the heart of the matter. This spiritual eclipse could mark the beginning of a mystical new chapter, even the development of strong intuitive (even psychic) powers.
This date kicks off a three-year eclipse series on the Taurus/Scorpio axis, your health and healing houses. This cycle offers you a five-star opportunity to revolutionize your physical and mental health, as well as your attitude toward fitness and self-care. As you sort through the mire, you may find you crave solitude, or have the sudden urge to meditate when you could barely sit still for 30 seconds up until now. Retreat as much as you can during this time. Instead of high-octane vacations, where you’re at the center of all the action, you may opt for quiet getaways, either alone or with like-minded people who also crave languid days, chilling out in a hammock and swimming in the sea.
During the next few years, your charge is to see your life as it is, and not just how you wish it could be. Deal with the gritty details, instead of getting lost in denial. Your imaginative stores are incredibly powerful right now, so make sure you use them to bring about the good you want in your life. Daydreams are like signposts, nudging you in a certain direction. During this time, you may also revamp the ways you manage stress. Are you too quick to please others, plagued by anxiety when you can’t fulfill a loved one’s request? Do you ask for help or wait for a total breakdown to happen? How are your relationships with your support crew: housecleaners, assistants, babysitters, etc.? You might need to ease up and let others in, especially when you’re confounded about important choices. The eclipse wisdom says, “Expect the unexpected”—and allow it, too. Whatever worries plague you, do your best to dissolve them. The more wound up you get, the more you block your own growth, opportunities, and prosperity with your know-it-all ways. You don’t know everything. No one does. Just focus on honoring your slice of the truth, and let the chips fall where they may.
Another reason to sign up for that month-long silent meditation? Communicator Mercury is retrograde (backward) from November 6-26, first in Sagittarius then Scorpio…making you feel wildly misunderstood at every turn. You try to convey to your sibling just how much he or she means to you, only to find that your chosen words cause a meltdown. (We can hear it now. You say she’s a “larger than life” personality, but she thinks you’re talking about her weight and starts ranting about the need to stay away from her grilled cheese guilty pleasures.) Instead of fumbling through shoddy communications, keep personal remarks and opinions to yourself this month. Or, if you feel compelled to express your deepest heart-longings, rely on body language and clear-cut actions, since your verbal skills will be challenged.
Given the amount of patience this month requires, you may benefit from meditative activities. Since most impetuous Sagittarians are too impatient to sit lotus on a meditation cushion and start chanting, you might get yourself into a Zen state of mind by checking out the Hay House-recommended HOLOSYNC, an innovative method for uncovering your inner peace. (Our Sagittarian selves are seriously considering giving this a try.)
Is it time to form a dynamic duo, either for business or love? The month ends with a Gemini lunar eclipse in your partnership house. It’s the culmination of events sparked at the May 20 Gemini solar eclipse. A relationship could reach a turning point or a building attraction can blossom into a full-in commitment. A connection that’s not meant to be can be “eclipsed” away, surely to be replaced by a much better fit.
LOVE & ROMANCE
A strange kind of fog blankets your life this month, making everything a bit out of focus. Things may not be what they seem, but with so many planets in Scorpio, your twelfth house of illusions and spirituality, you can barely tell fantasy from reality. And you might be too tired to care, since the twelfth house rules sleep and retreat. For other Sagittarians, this is a mystical month that makes you feel guided by a divine loving force. This is especially strong at the November 13 solar eclipse in Scorpio, which could bring an exciting development—such as the appearance of a soul mate or karmic pregnancy.
If a small part of you remains uncertain about where these wild emotions are taking you, chill out. The coming six months will bring developments that help you make sense of it all, revealing the deep truth of the matter. For now, just do your best to surrender, letting life and love unfurl at their own pace. The twelfth house is a foggy, but fantasy-fueled place. You may discover some hidden information…and it might not be savory in every case. Or, a loved one may reveal a deep, dark secret, which could bring you closer, even if you end up in couple’s therapy trying to sort it all out. Under this influence, authenticity and truth are paramount. You’ve declared your unconditional love, and this is where rubber meets the road. Can you work it out? Or at least part ways on more honest and forgiving terms? While that remains to be seen, being present and truthful in this next phase is key to your own happiness and ultimate well-being.
Remember, the emphasis here is on your personal growth within this relationship. This is a time to part ways with any codependent tendencies (with a lingering ex or your present honey) or to heal from a love addiction. If a certain relationship has an obsessive quality, it’s time to kick that habit to the curb. (Cue “Toxic” by your Sag sister Britney Spears.) Instead of going cold turkey, though, you might be presented with a unique opportunity to uncover the root of your obsession, alchemizing the connection from lethal to powerfully transformative. This road is not for the faint of heart, but if you let your instincts guide the way, you may just uncover that the storied sense of unconditional love is not a story at all, but real.
If all that sounds just a tad heavy, well…it is. But take heart: harmonious Venus is in Libra, your eleventh house of friendships, until November 21. For the first three weeks of the month, you can rely on your fun-loving friends to brighten up spirits and help you break out of a possible funk. That’s the great thing about being a Sag: you may experience lows, but you have stories of silliness and gregariousness at your fingertips. If you can’t access your own jovial side, spending time with good friends might be just the trick.
Midmonth, a touch of luxury might also bolster your spirits—not to mention your romantic life. From November 16-December 25, spicy Mars is in Capricorn, your second house of sensuality, encouraging you to infuse sexy energy into all aspects of your daily routine and surroundings. Perhaps the selection of a new, sultry perfume with woodsy, musky notes is in order. You might also decide to scatter colorful, sweet-smelling flowers around your house or apartment. If you need a lift, silky textures (preferably on your bed and undergarments) could really put you in the mood. Since all the Scorpio action has made you a little dreamy, rely on the yang energy of motivator Mars to help balance things out.
On November 21, magnetic Venus enters Scorpio, joining the intense party in your twelfth house. Matters of love might feel frustrating, or you could be locked up in your own fantasy world of how things should be. Instead of getting your feathers ruffled, perhaps you can retreat with your honey to a seaside destination, dropping expectations and the tendency to take things personally. If you force your own agenda, you might end up causing an actual separation.
The November 28 Gemini lunar eclipse will sort matters out even more. Gemini rules your seventh house of committed partnerships, and this change-making full moon eclipse echoes events from the May 20 Gemini solar (new moon) eclipse. If you’ve been on the fence about a relationship matter, count on this eclipse to give you the clarity and answers you’ve been waiting for, Sag. Hope springs eternal in the optimistic Sagittarian heart, and lovely as that sounds, it’s not always a good thing. You can become SO invested in a person’s potential that you fail to see if this person can really deliver the goods. This month’s two eclipses are here to teach you the difference between dedication and delusion. It’s one thing to take matters slow. It’s another when the person is constantly “not ready” or has a meltdown every time you’re intimate or can’t commit. If these themes sound familiar, the eclipse is here to deliver a wake-up call. You might also get a look at your own commitment-phobic tendencies—and if you’ve attracted a person whose own indecision is a mirror or deflection of your own.
MONEY & CAREER
Ever wish you could just wrinkle your nose and make stuff happen, a la the 1960s television show “I Dream of Jeannie”? Well, this month, you practically can. With a small army of planets in Scorpio, November’s emphasis is on just allowing the magic to happen, without any interference from over-thinking you. The more you ease up, the more you manifest exactly what you want (or need), seemingly out of thin air. For example, if you make an offhand comment to a colleague about wanting to find the perfect, airy space for your next workshop, don’t be shocked if you happen to bump into the caretaker of a magnificent studio, who happens to offer you easy (and possibly discounted) access. Or maybe you have a vague, unformed thought about a new business model, only to overhear a new coworker suggesting you do X, Y, and Z. Did they pluck the thought straight from that thought bubble above your head? Basically. Your subconscious is in overdrive, mapping your desires into tangible reality faster than ever.
The more this happens, the more you will trust the process of life. You might not be at your end game yet, but with such loud signals, you’re clearly on the right path. These synchronicities will happen more and more over the next three years, thanks to a series of eclipses on the Scorpio/Taurus axis. Consider it a trippy rebalancing act, as you create the success you crave through doing and allowing. As time goes on, you’ll become good at distinguishing between when you should charge ahead and when you should sit back, ready to receive the riches in store for you. To amp up your superpowers, check out books like “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind” and “The Law of Attraction.” Heck, even dust off your copy of “The Secret.” Its message of gratitude-as-the-attitude can only serve your ultimate satisfaction.
The November 13 eclipse may also prompt you to reshuffle your support team, or transform your attitude toward receiving help. When it comes to revealing your own vulnerability, it’s fine to let your staff members glimpse a few of your fragile feelings. (They probably sense it anyway. In Scorpio season, there’s no such thing as a secret.) Opening up in this way can bond you to your team in a more profound way. Keep in mind, though, that there is a thing as TMI (too much information). If you’re an overly trusting type, watch out for revealing sensitive stuff to the wrong person—e.g., you sigh deeply in front of your assistant, and when she asks what the matter is, you launch into a detailed description of your latest heartbreak or financial woes. That’s probably too much. No, it definitely is. You want to be extra careful, too, because there could be a hidden enemy in your midst, or someone who blabs your secrets to the world. And you’ll have nobody to blame but yourself for not keeping that info under tighter wraps. Let people earn your trust a little more. In some areas, you might want to tighten the reigns and boundaries, i.e. pay for office cleaning, as opposed to dumping menial tasks on your admin. If your niece’s gold chain needs untangling, don’t ask your agent to give it a go. This is a great time to write out job descriptions, sign contracts or NDAs. The more detailed you are in your expectations—i.e., the nature of this transaction—the more you can relax into the personal style you prefer…and get back to focusing on the work at hand.
Besides, you’ve got bigger things to focus on. Go-getter Mars is in Capricorn, your work and money house, from November 16-December 25. Heads up: Holiday season could be a high-earning one for you. Rather than get sucked into office gossip, drama, and illicit attractions—or dumped on with thankless work, martyr-style—concentrate on making some cold, hard cash. A sizzling new client, account or connection could translate into dollars before 2012 is through. Year-end bonus, anyone? Let that be your incentive to stay out of the emotional cesspool and focus on being productive!
HEALTH: MIND, BODY & SOUL
Land ho! Since June, illusory Neptune has been retrograde (backward) in Pisces, your fourth house of home and family, making this a rather foggy time on the domestic front. Perhaps you’ve felt lost at sea, unable to find your mooring, because of renovations, a move or some other foundational element in your life that felt unstable. On November 10, the planet of dreams and spirituality begins forward motion again, clearing the coast for dicey matters with a relative, your dwelling or even how you conceive of your “divine” home. During this period, a female friend or relative may have left your life in some way. If the relationship was unhealthy, then perhaps the parting was for the best. However, you may be feeling a true sense of loss. For some Sagittarians, codependent issues with children and parents flared up. If you’ve learned anything in this time, it’s you own boundaries, figuring out where you begin and the other person ends. You might feel a strong desire to recover from all these shifts by retreating to a body of water, taking more baths, or creating more solitude, a mood that’s definitely enhanced by all the planetary action in your watery twelfth house. Your creativity and imagination are deeply stimulated this month. For a catalyst, check out Julia Cameron’s self-study guide “The Artist’s Way.”
The three-year series of eclipses on the Taurus/Scorpio axis beginning November 13 will revamp your approach to health and fitness. If you’ve been haphazard or too much of a perfectionist, you’ll strike a more holistic balance now. Eat healthy, as best you can. Exercise often, as best you can. Unchecked stress can manifest as physical symptoms, so it’s important to take extra-good care of yourself, before tensions turn into actual health issues. Sagittarians can sometimes disconnect from their own bodies, so it’s all the more important you engage in activities that put you in touch with your more visceral side. Take up a gentle, yin style of yoga, or get out for frequent walks, whenever possible. Also, to really get you moving, you might want to put a tune by fellow Sag Ozzy Osbourne on your soundtrack. Though the song is called “Crazy Train,” he’s really singing about the need to “learn how to love and forget how to hate.”
Another manifestation of this eclipse series might be a burgeoning interest in the afterlife—even some medium-istic gifts. Maybe there really is more to existence than meets the eye. As your interest in the hereafter or the paranormal piques—and maybe you start exploring all sorts of past life connections—you might just find yourself cultivating latent clairvoyant or psychic talents. Your sixth sense has always been keen. (Why else would Sagittarians be gamble-prone, if not for the strong sense that they’re betting on the right horse?)
