MONTHLY OVERVIEW
Don’t pack away those fuzzy slippers just yet! You’re in the home stretch of a long nesting cycle that began last June. This month you could discover yet another dimension of your domestic side, or even find yourself in a “family way.” Until May 20, the Sun is in Taurus, your fourth house of home, family and women. It’s also joined by expansive Jupiter, which is in Taurus from June 2011 through June 2012. With all this fourth-house energy, May could serve up a pregnancy, a move, a property purchase or a project involving women.

Aquarius is the sign of emotional detachment, and too much sentiment can make you squirm. However, you won’t be able to leave your heart out of the equation with the Sun and Jupiter in this sentimental zone of your chart. Surrender to your inner mushball. The one time to put on your poker face? Near the May 5 Scorpio full moon, which highlights your career, achievements and long-term goals, you could make serious headway toward your ambitions — especially an initiative you’ve been working on since the fall.

On May 20, the Sun moves into Gemini, your fifth house of love and passion. A steamy and, well, memorable Memorial Day could be in store. However, make sure those fireworks don’t detonate the wrong way, as you can be pretty dramatic now, too. Romantic Venus will be retrograde (moving backward) in Gemini May 15 through June 27, which could bring back an ex or just create tension in your love life. Repressed emotions can come up, so make sure you have a proper outlet for them. Exercise, a creative project and fun activities will help direct any turbulent feelings into positive channels.

LOVE & ROMANCE
The cards are divided on love this month. The first half of the month can be downright blissful, with romantic Venus taking a long cruise through Gemini, your fifth house of romance and passion. Venus is here until August; however, from May 15 through June 27, Venus will be retrograde (moving backward), a bumpy time for love no matter what your sign. Alas, Aquarius, you may be one of the signs hit hardest by this retrograde. To prevent any meltdowns, you’ll need to keep your own inner drama queen in check. Yes, you have one — no matter how cool and collected you think you are.

Venus retrogrades can also bring back people from our past. Don’t be surprised if an ex or two contacts you during this retrograde. If that happens, take the opportunity to assess: Did you make a mistake calling things off last time, or is this just another version of the same old story? If you’re in a relationship, don’t take any doubts at total face value. There’s a good chance you may be projecting unrealistic standards or stuff from your past onto your mate.

One of our favorite books on commitment — and people’s skittishness around it — is “He’s Scared, She’s Scared: Understanding the Hidden Fears That Sabotage Your Relationship.” If you automatically went “yup” when you just read that title, it’s a worthy library addition. While you may be busy accusing someone else of being an aimless Peter Pan type, your own fears may be secretly blocking stability.

Further clarity arrives at the Gemini new moon solar eclipse on May 20. This is a powerful day for new love, fresh starts and even pregnancies (the fifth house also rules fertility). Think back to last June, when a prior Gemini solar eclipse gave you a similar nudge — or shove — forward in your love life. Aquarius Justin Timberlake is now engaged after years as a notorious bachelor. We attribute that one to a Gemini/Sagittarius eclipse cycle that’s romantically revamping your life from 2010 to 2014. Your own love life could take an unexpected turn like this in the next six months. Trust that your heart will guide you to the perfect scenario — or perhaps a new addition to the family.

MONEY & CAREER
May’s focus is more on your personal life, but there are a couple of nice career highlights. The big one is the May 5 Scorpio full moon, which falls in your 10th house of success. A project or initiative you’ve been working on for the past six months could reach a peak or turning point. This could be the day you score that promotion, hot account or high-profile client. A touch of fame and public recognition could you’re your way, and you could be honored for your achievements.

Because this full moon will travel close to Earth, its effects will be extra powerful. This sort of “supermoon” rarely comes along, so you’re especially poised for success. Full moons can symbolize either manifestation or endings. In some cases, this full moon could mean the end of one career path — especially if you’re feeling bored, stifled or called to do something more purposeful.

Are you wishing you had more moolah stashed away? Do you have money stress, especially about real estate, property or savings? Energizer Mars is shuttling forward in Virgo, your eighth house of joint finances, until July 3. Since November, you may have poured some capital into a project that hasn’t yet delivered a full return on investment. Feeling a little stressed about it? Avoiding dealing with the details? Summon some courage and dive in, Aquarius. With a little gutsy attitude, you could actually score quite a lump sum. If you’re championing a cause, this is a great time to solicit donations or grant money.

HEALTH: MIND, BODY & SOUL
With both the Sun and Jupiter in Taurus, your fourth house of home, family and motherhood, Mother’s Day could be extra-special. Whether you’re honoring your own mom or being celebrated as a mama, this is a great year to do something meaningful. Check out The God Box Project, a book and a movement by Libra author Mary Lou Quinlan (www.thegodboxproject.com). After her mom died, Quinlan discovered containers and containers of little handwritten notes, prayers and wishes for the family that her mom had stashed away in what she called her God Box. It’s a touching tribute — and a cool idea to keep a little correspondence with the universe, divine channels and guides!

Have you got some deeper emotional repair work to do, or perhaps amends to make? Transformational Pluto, ruler of the unconscious, is retrograde (moving backward) in your 12th house from April 9 through September 18. There’s no slipping into denial now. However, some of your own shadowy thoughts and reactions could come up, and you want to make sure you’re not projecting them onto the people around you — or being whiplashed into drama by every little trigger.
