The Sagittarius man’s vision of love is an interesting paradox: He wants a devoted mate who gives him his freedom. Mmm-kay. Talk about doing things the hard way. If you want to be free, stay single, right? Well, that’s what most people would do, but he’s not most people. Sagittarius is the sign of the gambler. The odds (and the gods) tend to favor him. He knows that if anyone’s gonna find that needle in the haystack, it’s him. Besides, he’ll enjoy the whole adventure of searching for what he wants — it’s an excuse to see the world!
Like a knight, the Sagittarius man loves to charge off on his worldly quests, then return to share his delightful tales with anyone who will listen. A jack-of-all-trades (and a master of one or two), he’s ravenous for knowledge and experiences. Sagittarius rules travel and the higher mind, and he’s always expanding his repertoire with books, classes, hobbies, friends and globe-trotting. This man must sow his oats before settling into a relationship. Otherwise, he’ll always have one foot out the door, wondering “what if?”
Once he’s satisfied his adventure quota, the Sag man suddenly grows lonely exploring the world by himself. Out of nowhere, he begins to crave a companion to join his eternal seeking.
The mature Sagittarius can make an excellent, though intense, partner. Only a well-ripened Sagittarius should be plucked off the vine, and he’s pretty much useless as a mate until then. Once he “grows up,” he’s like a kid with severe ADHD whose Ritalin suddenly kicks in. After tearing through life like a crazed bull in a china shop (or occasionally, moping along like Eeyore), he morphs into a serene Buddha figure, floating above the chaos.
At this point, the Sagittarius man’s best qualities come out — like wisdom, empathy and generosity. He’s able to put his full focus on a partner and champion your visions. Your relationship and shared life become his new adventure, his mega-sized project. He loves to coach, mold and direct, and as long as you absorb his teachings, he’ll gladly be your guru.
