2011’s Most Eligible Celebs
New year, new relationship — at least, if you’re one of the celebs who rang in 2011 as a freshly minted bachelor or bachelorette. We take a look at who’s on the dating market and how they’ll fare in the coming year. With awards season coming up for all the actors, we figured we’d nominate some of these famous folk for a visit from Cupid this year. Here are a few of our top draft picks.
Eligible Aries: Lady Gaga
Mars in Aquarius: January 15-February 22
All those solemn New Year’s resolutions are great, but where’s the fun, the purpose? This weekend, energizer Mars moves from goal-oriented Capricorn into idealistic Aquarius, the sign of groups and society. It’s time to move beyond a simple to-do list and connect your actions to a higher cause. Warm up the winter with some volunteer work, or meet new people attending charity events. Mars encourages outspokenness, and Aquarius rules technology. You could record a digital video, write a blog about your beliefs or let off some steam by commenting on someone else’s article.
New Zodiac Dates & a 13th Sign: Behind the Ophiuchus Hype
Yesterday, panic rippled through loyal horoscope readers, when The Huffington Post published an article asserting that the earth's shifting alignment has caused the zodiac signs to change. Suddenly, every sign has been bumped forward nearly a month, and a 13th sign named Ophiuchus has been sandwiched between Scorpio and Sagittarius.
What the heck?
Cancer Full Moon: Open Your Heart
Break out the tissues. The full moon in sensitive Cancer exposes our deepest feelings on Tuesday. Cancer is ruled by the Moon, so this is an especially powerful day to air your emotions — anger, sadness, joy, or a combo of many things. With the Sun in work-driven Capricorn since December 21, most of us have been focused on our New Year's goals, pushing our feelings aside. The Cancer full moon yanks us off the hamster wheel to reconnect with our emotions ... which is healthy.
Geminis Sweep The Golden Globes
Golden Globes night was Gemini night, with nominees from this sign taking home a slew of statues. Natalie Portman and Annette Bening, both Gems, took the Best Actress category for “The Black Swan” and “The Kids Are All Right.” (“Kids” also won Best Comedy.) Other Gemini winners: Paul Giamatti for Best Performance by an Actor, “The Social Network” writer Aaron Sorkin for Best Screenplay, and Glee’s Chris Colfer as Best Supporting Actor for TV.
