Venus and Jupiter in Taurus: Romance Revival

By admin Thu., Feb. 21, 2013 ,5:30 am EST

2012 has been an interesting year so far, but if you’re still waiting for the stars to deliver a lovin’ spoonful, wait no more! For the rest of March, romantic Venus and expansive Jupiter are cruising together in sensual Taurus. Venus is the zodiac ruler of Taurus, and when a planet visits its home sign, everything can hum along on a fabulous pleasure trip. Sensuality, a touch of decadence and luxury, and tons of affection could be on the agenda. Foot massage, anyone?

Jupiter is the planet of adventure, luck, optimism and taking a chance. It’s kind of the antithesis of what Taurus is about (building, putting down roots, being in the moment). Combined, it may be kind of a “you got your chocolate in my peanut butter effect,” but who doesn’t enjoy a delicious peanut butter cup? If you can feel both settled AND adventurous, secure AND spontaneous, that could be amazing.

Venus in Taurus also turns our attention to beautification — homes, wardrobes and hairstyles all get a chic spring overhaul now. The combo of tasteful Venus with worldly Jupiter might mean that your new Egyptian cotton sheets literally COME from Egypt … or that your decadent date night happens at an Ethiopian restaurant rather than a snooty French bistro. (Think spooning up stews with a fistful of sponge bread instead of sweating which fork to use. Fun!) If there was ever a time to rent that dream villa in Morocco or to book a weekend at Canyon Ranch, this is it. A word of warning, though: Mercury is retrograde from March 12 through April 4, a tricky time to travel. So you might be better off turning your bedroom into a souk-inspired boudoir with a pendant lamp, velvet drapes and scattered rose petals … or heading to the local hot-tub gardens and Turkish bathhouse rather than jetting off to Istanbul.
