Underneath the Stars: Celebrity Astro-Highlights

By admin Thu., Feb. 21, 2013 ,5:29 am EST

What a week! We had Valentine’s Day, the Grammys, Fashion Week … all adding up to enough celebrity fodder to demand “special double issues” of every magazine. Here are some of the noteworthy cosmic happenings on our minds.

Jessica Simpson: Not So Simple?
Jessica Simpson will not be confusing tuna and chicken anymore. Apparently, being engaged to a bookish, intellectual Virgo (with a Yale degree, to boot) makes the Cancer woman’s waters run deep. J-Simp reports to New York magazine that she and fiancé Eric Johnson spend an hour each morning free-writing and reading aloud to each other. Eric has turned her on to one of our favorite books, “The Artist’s Way,” and they follow the practice of Morning Pages (clearing your mind and emotional buildup through journaling). Although the Cancer woman can play the damsel-in-distress/Betty Boop/femme fatale, don’t let the sugar coating fool you: Jessica is sitting on a fashion empire whose revenues are projected to hit $1 billion this year. Wealthy, with added substance? We like it.

Grammys Tribute to Aretha Franklin
Aretha, an Aries, was due for a diva tribute. With expansive Jupiter in her sign until June 2011, it’s all about the Rams this year!

Lady Gaga: Ripped Off?
Scratch what we just said about the Rams … Lady Gaga, also an Aries, seemed like a shoo-in for Best Artist, but didn’t take home the prize. Oh well. Her egg, symbolizing birth (and her song “Born This Way”), made enough of an impression. And with lucky Jupiter in her sign until June, it’s certainly a rebirth for Aries. The only question: How much more could she possibly surprise us? Never underestimate the power of an Aries to dream up something new. Lady Antebellum, whatevah …

Bieber Fever: Temperatures Dropping (Or Is That Just His Voice)?
Pisces Justin Bieber also left empty-handed, but no surprise there: Lucky Jupiter departed from his sign on January 22, ending a golden year for the YouTube upstart. Now it’s time to stop singing “Baby” and get back into the studio for some recording — and perhaps a little vocal coaching as puberty changes his voice. But don’t worry, J-Beebs, Jupiter is now in your money house. That “Never Say Never” 3-D concert movie will have you laughing all the way to the bank. Statue, schmatue.

Christina Aguilera Stumbles at the Grammys … This Time, Over Her Feet
Sagittarius is symbolized by the mythic centaur — half human, half horse. Archers like Xtina are prone to tripping over their own hooves. Why they’d forget the words to the national anthem? Well, that’s another story. It could be chalked up to Sagittarians’ rep for overconfidence or over-reliance on luck instead of preparation.
