Sun in Scorpio (10/23-11/22)
Turn the lights down low. The Sun visits Scorpio for a month, charging the air with intrigue and intimacy. This is the time of year when hibernation begins and we take stock of our resources. Winter is coming, and our energy must be conserved. Scorpio time is for reviewing which people, activities, expenses and so on we’ll keep during the leaner months ahead.
Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, mythic god of the underworld. At moments, we may go down into the depths of our own subconscious minds to explore. This is the period when the “shadow side” of people’s personalities can emerge, so watch out. You may need to take a break from people who are acting from an unaware and potentially destructive place.
Scorpio is the sign of transformation, and it has three symbolic figures: the ground-dwelling venomous scorpion (low vibration), the all-seeing eagle (medium vibration) and the divine phoenix that rises from the ashes of destruction to create new life (highest spiritual vibration). This is an important time to raise our own energies from the more base ones, like guilt, shame, vengefulness and spite. Where can you transmute these into love, compassion, forgiveness or release? Carrying around darkness only pulls you down. Try to rise above (like the eagle) and survey the whole landscape before you cast any judgment.
