New Year's Eve: Aries Fireworks!
2011 is coming to an end, and no, the world isn't. Far from it! 2012 is actually the dawning of a new, conscious era, and frankly, we're looking forward to it. (Stay tuned, because on January 1, we'll be posting the 2012 annual horoscopes you've been anticipating.) So how should we wrap up the last days of December?
In the stars, we'll go from a Pisces Moon fizzle to an Aries Moon sizzle. On Thursday and Friday, just relax and decompress while the Moon is in watery, dreamy Pisces. Create the playlist for your New Year's Eve party, browse vintage stores for a unique accent piece that pulls your outfit together, concoct a signature cocktail. Pisces is a spiritual sign, so this is a time to meditate, do a 2012 vision board, or try any rituals that help usher out the old and welcome the new. Pisces is also the zodiac's last sign, and it rules the 12th house of closure and endings. It's fitting that this year winds down with this focus.
Don't "om" your way to the midnight countdown, though. On Saturday, the Moon moves into Aries, an active and restless Fire sign. Aries is the zodiac's first sign, and the ruler of new beginnings, so 2012 should arrive in a spirit of eager anticipation — a positive vibe! Spontaneous Uranus is also in Aries, so plans could change on a whim. You may want to party-hop, or switch your plans for a quiet night in into an impromptu drop-through fiesta with dancing, karaoke or something active (Aries is a physical sign). For swinging singles, you might share a midnight kiss … and another at 2 am, then 4 am, then sunrise … why quit while you're ahead?
Caution: Both Aries and Uranus share a hotheaded quality, and the Moon here adds an extra element of emotional reactivity. If you sense a fight brewing "in 'da club," make a quick exit. Don't count just on one wingman or woman, either. The Aries effect can make people selfish, or at least overly individualistic. Your BFF could ditch those plans to welcome in 2012 when she meets a cute guy, gets a better offer, or suddenly feels a little woozy and heads home. Speaking of wooziness, be sure to drink lots of water, especially if you're swigging champagne. With all this fiery Aries energy, dehydration is possible. Uranus can also throw our balance off, so avoid anywhere too claustrophobic, lest you feel dizzy or short of breath .
The Moon stays in Aries for New Year's Day, so keep the party rocking all night. On Tuesday, it moves into sensible, productive Taurus, and we'll return to the office ready to roll up our sleeves. Until then, let loose and shed any frustrations (in a positive way) from the past year. Welcome to 2012!
