Maria Papapetros' Exercise and Meditation for Happiness in 2011:
Before we can truly welcome in 2011, we must first say goodbye to 2010 graciously. We need to thank this year for all of the experiences we’ve been given. Now, many of us do not feel such appreciation for 2010 — either because it was a financially draining year, we ended a romance or friendship, we had health problems or simply because things did not go our way.
Have you ever ended a relationship but had unresolved issues? Chances are, those followed you into your next one. The past year was like a relationship, and you are ending that relationship to make room for a new one. We do not want to enter 2011 feeling resentment toward 2010 if we want it to be successful.
We have some cleaning up to do…
Step One:
I have a very simple exercise for you to do in order to resolve your issues with 2010 and prepare for your new relationship...with 2011. It only takes a pen and paper (or a keyboard).
We are going to write a goodbye letter to 2010 and tell it all about how we feel. Let it all out! Don’t analyze your thoughts, just write what comes to mind. Address your letter: DEAR 2010, I have a few things I want to say to you and get them off my chest.
Why didn’t I get the promotion that I asked for? Why am I still single? Why didn’t I get a bonus? Why didn’t my marriage improve? Why did my wife leave me for another man?
As you’re writing you will begin receiving answers that will flow through you effortlessly and find their way into your letter. What happens during this process is you get in touch with your higher self – the psychic within you that has all the answers.
You will start feeling lighter, enlightened and aware. The awareness of what happened over the last 12 months will help you assume responsibility. And with that comes EMPOWERMENT. By assuming responsibility, you are actually taking your power back.
Step Two:
Read your letter twice. Then close your eyes and enter a meditative state. Embrace your emotions and just be. Forgive yourself and 2010. Visualize holding a golden key in the palm of your hand and affirm the words:
There is an endless source of supply of abundance of everything there is in the universe that is good and Godly. This source is available to me at all times and I can access it always.
It is my birth right to be healthy, happy, wealthy and to enjoy abundant living.
Forgiveness is letting go of the past. Now you are ready to enter 2011 and make it a masterpiece.
Step Three:
Make a list of positive affirmations for what it is you want to achieve for the following year, by using the words “I have” and “I am” (for example: I have happiness, I am in a loving relationship, I have great friends, I am in a fulfilling career). Write down as many as you wish. It is very important, though, that we reinforce these affirmations often.
You must recite these in the morning when you first wake up and as you drift asleep at night. That is the best time to access and program your subconscious mind. The frequent affirmation of your desires throughout the year (not just during the first few weeks of January) will help them materialize.
