Gemini Solar Eclipse: Double Your Pleasure

By admin Thu., Feb. 21, 2013 ,5:30 am EST

This Sunday, the Gemini new moon is also a solar eclipse — meaning bold new beginnings could be coming our way, ready or not! Gemini rules communication, so this eclipse could bring exciting and unexpected news. Keep your smartphone handy, check the mailbox and see who rings you up for a hangout this weekend. New friendships and alliances could spring up, as Gemini rules the Twins. You could meet your “other half” or a kindred spirit!

During a solar eclipse, the Moon sits directly between the Earth and the Sun. During this brief time, the Moon can “block out” the Sun, temporarily turning off the lights. The effect on us is that we may suspend our normal judgments and perspectives. This allows people to enter our lives who normally wouldn’t, or our minds to be open to different ways of seeing things. On the upside, this can bring opportunities we wouldn’t ordinarily seek out, which can be advantageous. At the same time, it can cause confusion or disorientation for about three to five days before and after the eclipse. Being yanked out of the familiar isn’t always comfortable. Yet it’s necessary — and solar eclipses (which happen two or three times a year) can act as catalysts that push us forward into powerful change, new habits and fresh starts.

The last Gemini solar eclipse was on June 1, 2011. Think back to what began in your life about a year ago. This could be the continuation or next chapter of it. Be sure to check your weekly or monthly horoscope for the full report on how the Gemini eclipse will affect your sign!
