Are You on Your Right Path? Insight From a Career Intuitive
Play the five-million-dollar game.
You suddenly have five million dollars in your bank account, perfect health, and perfect relationships. Feel the ease in your life. From that place of ease and fun, imagine the vacation you would take. Picture it, and feel the deep relaxation of your new life.
You’re back home from your vacation, and the universe tells you that you can only keep this abundant wealth if you use it to take your career to the next level and launch your true work — the work you came here to do. What would you do? *
That is a loaded question indeed, one that you have likely asked yourself before. One that might take some serious soul-searching to answer honestly.
Maybe your response goes a little something like this: “If I didn’t have to worry about putting food on the table, I’d probably open up my own shop.” Or perhaps you have been on the wrong path for so long you don’t even know what your true mission is. You only know that something is missing from your life — a sense of fulfillment.
The five-million-dollar scenario is one of many exercises career intuitive and author Sue Frederick provides in her book, “I See Your Dream Job.” The point of this exercise, and Frederick’s book in general, is to help you to visualize what your personal mission is, what you came here to do — minus the worry, distractions and financial burdens of everyday life.
Using numerology along with your astrological sign and meditation exercises, Frederick’s book shows you how to tap into your own intuitive guidance and create a plan for moving forward and pursuing your passion.
I got to chat with Sue Frederick recently about the book and her unique profession that improves the lives of so many.
What is your definition of “dream job”?
Our dream job is the work we came here to do. It uses our gifts and talents to help raise the consciousness of the planet in our unique way. This work feeds our soul, helps us evolve, embraces our talents, and makes a difference in the world. It also supports us abundantly.
What methods do you use for seeing someone’s potential destiny and helping them to tap into their own powers?
As a professional career counselor and an intuitive since childhood, I draw upon dreams, ancient numerology, powerful intuition and conversations with spirits to help you see your dream job.
I was trained as a traditional career counselor at University of Missouri in the ’70s. I’ve always been able to feel what people are here to accomplish in their lifetimes. I’ve been working as a professional career intuitive for 10 years.
Would you say that most people you encounter know what their life’s career mission is? Or are many people still trying to figure it out?
Reinvention is always required. Even if we have a successful career, we’ll hit a reinvention point and need to change or tweak our direction. Everyone knows inside of themselves what they’re here to do. But most of us spend years talking ourselves out of doing it until we hit a major reinvention point.
Does everyone have this great mission within them? Is it possible that a person busing tables could have the same life mission as the CEO of a major corporation?
Everyone on planet Earth came here with a mission, a huge soul intention to accomplish something great. Whether you’re a busboy or a CEO, you have a powerful mission inside of you. Your challenges and reinventions are perfectly designed to get you headed in the right direction — doing your true work.
Are there three things that someone who is reading this post can do right now to start uncovering and accomplishing their life mission?
o Tap into your intuition: Sit quietly, pray, meditate or go for a walk. Find time to contemplate and to listen to your higher self.
o Play the five-million-dollar game. Imagine you have five million dollars and the universe says you can only use the money to reinvent your career. What would you do with the money? Start a business, go back to school, write a book? Whatever your answer is, — that’s what you’re supposed to be doing now. Taking baby steps in that direction will attract all the abundance you could ever need.
o Learn about your birth path and what it tells you about the work you came here to do. Pythagoras taught that each number carries a feeling or vibration as well as a quantity, and that the numbers in your date of birth reveal your life’s mission. It’s worth exploring that idea and seeing what you can learn about yourself. My book, “I See Your Dream Job,” explains your birth path and helps you understand how it can guide you to your true work.
