2012 “DWTS” Astrology: Shall We Dance?
The Season 14 “Dancing with the Stars” cast has been revealed! With dreamy, graceful Neptune in its home sign of Pisces (ruler of the feet), this could be one of the most beautiful and artistic seasons yet. Interestingly, a disproportionate number of Air signs (Geminis, Libras and Aquarians) make up the initial cast. Out of the 12 contestants, seven were born under Air signs. Why? Our theory: Lucky Jupiter is traveling through the sensitive, artistic and water-ruled houses of their charts.
Here’s who you’ll be cheering for this year — and their astrological prospects of paso doble–ing their way to the big win!
Forecast: With lucky Jupiter in Taurus, it’s a great time for this sign to take a chance. While their odds of winning are 50/50, simply being on the show will give a huge boost to popularity (or notoriety, depending on how much diva-dom they express). With Jupiter in Taurus, this is a great time for reinvention, or presenting a whole new image. Bonus: While some Taureans are more heavy-footed “Bulls in a china shop,” their sign is ruled by artistic Venus, making others quite graceful. Dancers Fred Astaire and Judith Jamison share a May 10 Taurus birthday.
Forecast: With lucky Jupiter in her 11th house of popularity, being on the show will win her new fans and even a more mainstream following. Neptune in her international ninth house suggests better luck with tango and Latin dances. Will she follow in the footsteps of Cancerian Ginger Rogers?
Forecast: Here’s a sign that can be surprisingly flexible, even double-jointed! With Jupiter in their dreamy 12th house (which rules dance, music and the arts), and artistic Neptune in their 10th house of fame, these Geminis definitely have an edge. But they’ll need to avoid controversy and conflict with castmates to keep the votes coming in.
Forecast: Accepting help and suggestions can be tough for perfectionist Virgos. Remember when Virgo Ricki Lake almost quit Season 13? However, if this hottie can make it past the criticism, there’s hope for him (and for those of us who wouldn’t mind drooling over his sexiness for as many weeks as we can). With lucky Jupiter going into his 10th house of fame and championships on June 11, this could be a great career-building move, and could even turn into some Hollywood leading-man roles. With dreamy Neptune in his partnership house, there could be a love affair with his dance partner … or some beautiful synergy once he surrenders control.
Forecast: Confidence crisis? With challenging Saturn in Libra, and in low-power retrograde (backward) motion until late June, these contestants will have to work twice as hard to get half as far. If they tough it out and build up the discipline, they could be inspiring role models. But their own self-doubt could be the biggest enemy this season. Wish them luck!
Forecast: Everyone loves a Sagittarius, the zodiac’s optimist and class clown. But alas, this sign has a tendency to be klutzy, so he’ll have to watch out for those two left feet. With Jupiter in his health-and-fitness house until June, he could get into great shape. But he’ll have to develop the patience to learn the technique, which could be tough for his impatient, free-form sign.
Forecast: Aquarians are likable and often light on their feet. But a rare bout of homesickness could hit these two before June, thanks to Jupiter in their domestic fourth house. With Neptune in their sophisticated second house, though, they could pick up a little gracefulness and flair along the way.
